5/15/25 | Cardinals Running Out Of Time Before Star Gets Too Expensive. The St. Louis Cardinals have a budding, young star on their hands. There's going to be a serious transition this upcoming offseason as Chaim Bloom replaces John Mozeliak as the Cardinals' president of baseball operations. One guy who is worth keeping around in the long term certainly is utility man Brendan Donovan. Donovan has appeared in 42 games so far this season and is slashing .313/.376/.448 with three homers, 20 RBIs, three stolen bases, 13 doubles, and 23 runs scored. The St. Louis Cardinals have gotten off to a pretty mediocre start as a team, but their ultra-utility man, Brendan Donovan, has been quite hot. On the season, Donovan is slashing .331/.386/.468 with three home runs and ten doubles. Despite this hot start, some in the media think St. Louis could trade him this season. 5/02/25 | Cardinals-Yankees Linked In Trade Not Involving Nolan Arenado. Trade speculation already ran rampant in April, what will May bring? It's only going to pick up and the St. Louis Cardinals have been one of the most talked about teams in the league already. This is especially true because of the fact that Major League Baseball added a third Wild Card team into the mix for the postseason. For example, Dylan Sanders of New York Yankees on SI recently suggested Brendan Donovan as a fit for the New York Yankees. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/cardinals/st-louis-cardinal... |
5/01/25 | Brendan Donovan brings me back memories of Rex Hudler. Donovan is doing what my generation and the generations before us did, and frankly, I feel like we're the last ones. There was no strict position like first base or center field or catcher; we took ground balls and fly balls and the coach put us in the field — that was it. A lot of us found our niche at certain positions or got our positions narrowed down to a top three, but that didn't mean we couldn't play elsewhere, and that's how you're supposed to go about playing baseball, and Donovan does it every day. Watching Donovan play, well, it takes me back. Source: https://www.thetelegraph.com/opinion/article/brend... |
