Willy Adames (SS - SF)
1/20/25 8:00 PM - Blake Snell Throws Major Shade On Giants Fans After Signing with Dodgers. The San Francisco Giants have been unable to retain much of their talent this winter, much less add any externally. Yes, the addition of shortstop Willy Adames to a seven-year, $182 million contract and Justin Verlander to a one-year, $15 million deal helps fill holes, it doesn't exactly move the needle compared to last year's roster. One player they were unable to convince to remain in the Bay Area is two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell who opted out of his contract with the Giants after the first year and signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Snell, now playing for his third National League West team, has operated more of a mercenary up and down the coast of California for the last five seasons.

A.J. Minter (P - NYM)
1/20/25 6:21 PM - Mets sign former Brook Hill star A.J. Minter. A.J. Minter has been tough on the Mets since his rookie season with the Atlanta Braves in 2017. The Mets will no longer have to face the lefty in the late innings of close games with the club signing the reliever to a two-year, $22 million contract, pending a physical, the Daily News confirmed. The Mets made a move for some much-needed relief help Friday with the free agent signing of Minter, a 31-year-old who has spent his entire career with the Braves. In 348 2/3 innings pitched, all with the team that drafted him in the second round in 2015 out of Texas A&M, Minter has posted a 3.28 career ERA (131 ERA+) with 36 saves.

Bryce Harper (1B - PHI)
1/20/25 6:13 PM - Bryce Harper Was All Decked Out in Ohio State Gear at National Championship Game. Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper was out and enjoying his last weeks before spring training on Monday night, taking in the College Football Playoff championship game between Ohio State and Notre Dame. In addition to Harper, NBA star and Ohio native LeBron James was in attendance as well. A noted Ohio State fan, Harper has been around the Buckeyes multiple times this season, appearing on a FOX Sports pregame show back in October from Columbus.

Andrew McCutchen (DH - PIT)
1/20/25 6:04 PM - Pirates Add Andrew McCutchen to 40-Man Roster. The Pittsburgh Pirates made sure that they'll have one of their greats ready for the upcoming season. Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reported that the Pirates officially added Andrew McCutchen to the 40-man roster. The Pirates putting McCutchen on the 40-man roster will allow them to place him on the 26-man MLB roster, which then permits McCutchen to play for the team.

Juan Soto (OF - NYM)
1/20/25 3:28 PM - Mets six-time All-Star projected as 'bargain-bin' signing for AL contender. Turnover is a constant during the Major League Baseball offseason, and the New York Mets will continue to experience it during the coming weeks. The Mets have seen plenty of players come and go already this winter--Juan Soto in, Luis Severino out, just to name two. Designated hitter J.D. Martinez is looking to extend his career after an up-and-down one-year stint in Queens. A six-time All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger, Martinez will enter his age-37 season in 2025.

Luis Arraez (1B/2B/DH - SD)
1/20/25 1:57 PM - Dodgers Star Thinks Padres' Luis Arraez Could Make MLB Hall of Fame. Luis Arraez is breathing rarified air in the batter's box. Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Teoscar Hernández agrees, even if Arraez isn't considered to be a home run hitter. "He's the only player who has won three batting titles, if I'm not mistaken, with three different teams," Hernández said in an interview that was translated from Spanish to English. Ichiro Suzuki wasn't a great home run hitter, but he was a great hitter.

Nolan Arenado (3B - STL)
1/20/25 1:57 PM - Cardinals Have 'At Least Two Teams' Willing To Renegotiate Trade For Nolan Arenado. The St. Louis Cardinals are running out of options as they look to trade superstar third baseman Nolan Arenado to a team to which he's willing to be moved. Arenado vetoed a potential blockbuster trade with the Houston Astros earlier this offseason but there haven't been any further reports of him declining a deal. With St. Louis, nearly at its wit's end as it searches for an Arenado suitor, perhaps an opportunity could arise with a pair of clubs that have already given the five-time Silver Slugger some consideration. "The Cardinals believed they had an agreeable trade in place with Houston, but Arenado vetoed the move," St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold wrote Monday.

Robert Suarez (P - SD)
1/20/25 1:00 PM - Padres roster review: Robert Suarez. Sizing up the Padres’ 40-man roster heading into the 2025 season: Robert Suarez became an All-Star in his first season as the closer, but questions about his pitch mix arose as his effectiveness waned late in the season

Justin Verlander (P - SF)
1/20/25 10:13 AM - Giants linked to blockbuster trade for projected $450 million three-time All-Star. The San Francisco Giants have had an interesting offseason. Later in the offseason, San Francisco signed three-time Cy Young and former MVP Justin Verlander to a one-year, $15 million contract. Shohei Ohtani (DH - LAD)
1/20/25 10:11 AM - Ichiro Suzuki is about to get his Hall of Fame moment. For Japan, he’s more than just a baseball star. Back home, he’s a wellspring of national pride, much like Shohei Ohtani now.

Kyle Tucker (OF - CHC)
1/20/25 10:09 AM - Former MLB GM Makes Bold Claim About Houston Astros' Division Chances. There is no question the Houston Astros have taken a massive step back from the dominance the world has grown accustomed to seeing from them for the better part of the last decade. With Kyle Tucker now donning blue pinstripes, and Isaac Paredes preparing to be an everyday starter, 2025 is gearing up to be a long season for the Astros. Many are aware of the slog that is to come in 2025, and former MLB GM Jim Bowden spoke about it recently.

David Peterson (P - NYM)
1/20/25 9:00 AM - Tom Brennan: Let's Look at the Mets' Pen; Alonso?. The Mets agreed to sign ex-Braves reliever AJ Minter. Assuming he passes the physical (he had hip surgery in August, hip surgery survivor David Peterson just reminded me), of course. Dedniel Nunez - his forearm injury has to concern one. Huascar Brazoban - I think he will be decent.

Kodai Senga (P - NYM)
1/20/25 8:54 AM - Mets blockbuster trade idea would swap Paul Blackburn, more for 224-strikeout ace. The New York Mets could assuredly use one more ace-caliber starting pitcher. Entering the 2025 season, the projected ace of the Mets' staff is Kodai Senga, who only made one start in the 2024 regular season.

Nolan Arenado (3B - STL)
1/20/25 8:25 AM - Why Red Sox Could Be Stalling Blockbuster Trade For Cardinals Slugger Nolan Arenado. The St. Louis Cardinals are nearly two months away from Opening Day 2025 but haven't made any significant moves this winter to help improve the roster. Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak was not pleasantly welcomed by some fans on Saturday at the organization's annual Winter Warm-Up. In his final offseason as head honcho for St. Louis, it's safe to say Mo is dropping the ball. Trading superstar third baseman Nolan Arenado is the Cardinals' top priority.

Brady Singer (P - CIN)
1/20/25 8:18 AM - How Much Better are the Cincinnati Reds Right Now Compared to 2024?. The Cincinnati Reds have made three major league additions and have a few more major league subtractions. Based on the Wins Above Replacement of those joining the team versus those leaving, we can draw one conclusion. The Reds offseason has been slightly less interesting, so far, than we had hoped it would be. According to baseball reference, right handed pitcher Brady Singer, infielder Gavin Lux, and catcher Jose Trevino bring in a total of 5.7 WAR.

Masyn Winn (SS - STL)
1/20/25 8:12 AM - Masyn Winn of St. Louis Cardinals Sets Lofty Goal For Impending 2025 Season. The St. Louis Cardinals, trying to cut payroll, may not be going all-out in 2025, but young shortstop Masyn Winn is doing all he can to push the envelope of his own skillset. Speaking at this past weekend's winter warm-up event, Winn said that he's been working on his speed and has a goal to steal 30 or 40 bases. The 22-year-old Winn was a second round pick of the Cardinals back in the 2020 draft after playing his high school ball in Texas. In 150 games played last season, he produced a 4.9 WAR, hitting .267 with 15 homers, 57 RBI and 11 stolen bases.

Kyle Tucker (OF - CHC)
1/20/25 7:41 AM - MLB Insider Names Four Houston Astros Players as Sensible Trade Candidates. The Houston Astros have already made some major changes to their roster this offseason, most notably in the Kyle Tucker trade, but they may not be done. In examining the trade market for the remainder of the offseason, Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors named the top 20 candidates that could be moved before the start of the next campaign. Astros reliever Ryan Pressly made the list at No. 18, but wasn't the only Houston player mentioned. Given that Pressly has repeatedly been shopped with no success, a handful of other options were named realistic candidates as well.

Roki Sasaki (P - LAD)
1/20/25 7:00 AM - Paul Articulates – Reactions to recent developments. I have been a Mets fan since I was 8 years old. I have followed them through triumph and tragedy – they have always been “my team”. There are other MLB teams that I like to watch, and I usually root for them to win as long as it does not impact the Mets' season. One of those teams was the Dodgers. I mean “WAS”. I don't like the Dodgers anymore. They are the greedy “Steinbrenner Yankees” of the National League that are pulling all the best talent into Chavez Ravine like it was a massive black hole. I thought the Mets had a great shot at Roki Sasaki – their player development system and pitching lab technology promised him a great future. I thought the Mets had the inside track on Tanner Scott

Spencer Horwitz (1B/2B - PIT)
1/20/25 6:24 AM - [Just Baseball] - Spencer Horwitz: Most Underrated Trade of the Offseason. We do not often get a chance to praise the Pittsburgh Pirates. An organization that has been reluctant to spend money and has not shown a strong enough ability to compete through building from within. However, we need to give them props for the biggest offseason trade. The Pirates made one of the most underrated […] The post appeared first on .

Blake Snell (P - LAD)
1/20/25 6:21 AM - Braves tabbed as 'best fit' for suddenly expendable Dodgers starter. The Atlanta Braves have not made any major moves this winter, but plenty of valuable players are still available for the team to target if they want to upgrade their roster. The Los Angeles Dodgers have added two new faces to their rotation with the additions of Roki Sasaki and Blake Snell. While listing the best fits for remaining free agents, MLB.com's Thomas Harrigan noted that the Braves were the best fit for Flaherty.
