11/22/24 | Two Atlanta Braves Players Receive NL MVP Votes. Two Atlanta Braves players received some recognition in National League MVP voting. Designated hitter Marcell Ozuna finished in fourth place while starting pitcher Chris Sale finished seventh in the voting. The Baseball Writers Association of America included the full breakdown following the announcement of the winners on Thursday night. 11/05/24 | Baseball America Projects Atlanta Braves Future Closer. The notable baseball publication, Baseball America, put out it's latest offseason of the Atlanta Braves' farm system. Along with naming their top prospects, they also did a projection of the Braves lineup and starting rotation in 2028. The lineup is pretty straightforward, apart from catching prospect Drake Baldwin replacing Marcell Ozuna as the designated hitter, the lineup is identical to now. The St. Louis Cardinals offseason could go several different ways, depending on how aggressive the front office wants to be with trading. One Cardinals player previously mentioned as a potential trade candidate could find himself with the Atlanta Braves next season after the National League East rival's latest roster moves. The Atlanta Braves exercised designated hitter Marcell Ozuna's $16 million option for the 2025 season on Monday but declined to pick up catcher Travis D'Arnaud $8 million option, making him a free agent. The Braves also declined their $7 million team option on right-hander Luke Jackson. A three-time All-Star, Ozuna is a career .272 hitter with 275 homers, 880 RBIs and 1,514 hits in 1,469 games with the Miami Marlins (2013-17), St. Louis Cardinals (2018-19) and Braves. The Atlanta Braves had a deflating finish to this past season, making an early playoff exit after dealing with an injury-depleted roster for most of the summer.
