The fourth inning featured a nearly three hour rain delay, but the game required another inning to become official. The umpires tried to push through the game, which led to some anger from Miguel Rojas, who was arguing with the umpires after he slipped at home plate and made a throwing error. Overall, the Dodgers made three errors, all of which came from three of their top defenders in Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts and Rojas.

3/11/24 Does Defense Actually Make World Series Champions?. Just two weeks before Opening Day, the Los Angeles Dodgers gerrymandered their middle infield again. The team that won 100 games last year with Miguel Rojas and Miguel Vargas as its most used shortstop/second base pairing switched to a Gavin Lux/Mookie Betts arrangement at the start of camp and now has reversed their roles because Lux could not throw reliably enough from shortstop across the diamond. Suddenly the rest of the baseball world sees a vulnerability in the Dodgers. Betts is a fine all-around player who grew up playing shortstop, but he has started 12 major league games at shortstop.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in their final days of Cactus League play and face the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday for the first Spring Training matchup with their National League West counterpart. Rojas nonetheless has been reported as taking ground balls during a workout. Rojas dealt with numerous injuries in last year's Spring Training , varying from issues with his right calf, foot cramps, left groin tightness and left hamstring cramps. Given the uncertainty with Gavin Lux's defensive ability, the Dodgers

10/29/23 Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Grateful For Critics. The Los Angeles Dodgers bolstered their infield depth last offseason by acquiring Miguel Rojas in a trade from the Miami Marlins last offseason, which was necessary after Trea Turner signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. The trade marked a reunion as Rojas spent his rookie campaign with the Dodgers in 2014. While L.A. initially intended to have him fill a utility role, the 34-year-old became the starting shortstop after Gavin Lux suffered a torn ACL and LCL in his right knee during Spring Training. Rojas appeared in 124 games for the Dodgers this year, hitting .236/.290/.322 with 16 doubles, one triple, five home runs and 31 RBI over 423 plate appearances.

10/20/23 Miguel Rojas: Dodgers Didn't Execute Well Enough Against Diamondbacks In NLDS. Miguel Rojas was acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers prior to the 2023 season with the expectation he would be a utility man and primary backup to Gavin Lux at shortstop. Rojas left a lot to be desired with his bat, but was a top defender and started to pick it up offensively toward the end of the season. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said multiple times the team had a special chemistry in the clubhouse, and Rojas was among the players who acknowledged that feeling as well.

10/04/23 Dodgers Injury Update: Miguel Rojas Plans To Play Through Hand Discomfort For NLDS. The Los Angeles Dodgers didn't quite get through their last series of the regular season healthy as Miguel Rojas was hit by a pitch in his left hand that forced him to miss the final two games against the San Francisco Giants. Rojas was diagnosed with a hand contusion upon being removed from the series opener at Oracle Park, and X-rays came back negative. The Dodgers planned to have Rojas undergo a CT scan the following day but he made enough of a recovery that additional testing was bypassed. “Hopefully it gets back pretty close to 100%, but at the end of the day, a hand is not as important as being out there with the boys,” Rojas said before participating in an intrasquad game during the Dodgers' second workout ahead of the National League Division Series.

10/02/23 Chris Taylor Hit By Pitch: Dodgers Not Concerned For NLDS. A primary focus for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the final week of the regular season was to remain healthy, which didn't unfold with Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor during the three-game series against the San Francisco Giants. Rojas was hit by a pitch in his left hand on Friday night, and Taylor was struck in the left knee during the fourth inning of the series finale at Oracle Park. Whereas Rojas was immediately removed — and later underwent X-rays that came back negative — Taylor initially remained in the game. SportsNet LA reporter Kirsten Watson relayed on the broadcast that Taylor told teammates in the dugout his knee already was feeling better.

10/01/23 Miguel Rojas: Giants' Challenge For Defensive Violation Was 'Desperate Move'. Miguel Rojas had a night to forget on Friday as he exited the Los Angeles Dodgers' series opener against the San Francisco Giants in the seventh inning after being hit by a pitch on his left hand. Rojas received X-rays at the conclusion of the game, which came back negative, and there was improvement in his condition the following day, which allowed the veteran shortstop to skip additional testing that was originally planned. Prior to leaving the matchup early, Rojas was called for a defensive violation in the sixth inning after the Giants challenged that his foot had been touching the outfield grass before Lance Lynn delivered a pitch.
