11/29/23 Dodgers Free Agency Rumors: Potential Joc Pederson Reunion. Joc Pederson was among the early Los Angeles Dodgers prospects to reach the Major Leagues and make an impact during their current run of National League West dominance and he won a World Series title before moving on in free agency. Pederson became a free agent following the 2020 World Series, and like fellow postseason contributor Kiké Hernández, he turned that into a larger opportunity with a new team by signing with the Chicago Cubs. Hernández ultimately made his way back to the Dodgers in 2023, and now Pederson could potentially do the same.

9/17/23 A double shot of whiskey, Barbie dress-up day and a much-needed win leave SF Giants in good spirits, despite lackluster series vs. Rockies. It's a tradition of Joc Pederson's to pour Gabe Kapler and his teammates a shot of whiskey after a win. “He was like, 'You need a double today,' ” Kapler said after the Giants emerged victorious, barely, 11-10, over the Rockies, in a Coors Field special that allowed them to escape this four-game series with one victory and their playoff hopes hanging by a thread. Between the win, the whiskey and the Brandon Crawford-Ross Stripling devised Barbie movie dress-up day, the Giants boarded their charter flight in good spirits, despite their once lights-out closer very nearly wasting their best offensive showing in ages. Crawford's three-run homer into the Rockies bullpen should have been a knockout punch, the biggest blow of an eight-run sixth inning that opened a 9-0 lead.

9/05/23 Still winless in September, SF Giants' playoff chances dwindling after fifth straight loss. When things are going right, the Nickelodeon-esque neon orange that covers most of Joc Pederson's cleats is what's most visible. Five games into September, the Giants are in free fall. After 18 scoreless innings, their offense finally awakened Tuesday night against the Cubs, but their usually reliable bullpen blew it in an 11-8 loss, their fifth straight, dropping them just a game above .500 and ensuring that the Cubs will own the tiebreaker if they are able to catch them. The Giants are a full two games out of playoff position.
