Jansen, Boston's closer, pitched in each of his team's past three games, and he earned the save in the Red Sox's victories on Saturday and Sunday. "It's good, man," Jansen said following Boston's 3-2 series-clinching triumph over Washington on Sunday. The series victory came with its arduous moments. The Sox had this contest and series in their grasp, only for it to be spoiled by Mike Tauchman's three-run homer in the eighth inning that tied the score at four apiece. Kenley Jansen sealed it for the Red Sox Thursday evening in a highlight night for the Red Sox, which included Tyler O'Neill's fifth consecutive homer on Opening Day, a record. Jansen walked Mitch Haniger to open up the ninth, but he struck out two, stamping a 6-4 Red Sox victory. Rafael Devers etched his initials into Thursday's opener.
