1/14/25 Angels Linked to $37M All-Star Pitcher in Potential Blockbuster Trade. The Los Angeles Angels have had an eventful offseason thus far. After some bad luck with injuries and overall underwhelming production in the 2024 campaign, the Angels finished 63-99. In a clear attempt to address major pitching issues, the Halos signed southpaw Yusei Kikuchi to a three-year, $63 million deal and right-hander Kyle Hendricks to a one-year, $2.5 million deal. The Angels also signed veteran catcher Travis d'Arnaud and shortstop Kevin Newman this offseason to try and help offensive struggles — but with Mike Trout projected to have another huge year, it would make sense to continue the pitching focus.

1/03/25 MLB rumors: Angels suddenly emerge as Pete Alonso contenders. The Los Angeles Angels have made offseason moves to improve on the worst season in franchise history. Yusei Kikuchi and Kyle Hendricks are there to top the rotation. Jorge Soler is the power bat they needed in the lineup and Travis D'Arnaud will be their backup catcher. Pete Alonso is still available in free agency and could be headed to the Angels.

12/22/24 Houston Astros Named One of Biggest Losers During MLB Offseason Thus Far. The Houston Astros have been one of the busiest teams in the MLB during the offseason to this point, but a strong argument can be made they have a worse roster right now than they did when they were eliminated from the Wild Card by the Detroit Tigers in October. Since that time, they have lost starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi in free agency to their American League West rivals, the Los Angeles Angels. Future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander doesn't look like he will be back either. One of the core players from their recent dynasty that definitely won't be returning is right fielder Kyle Tucker.

12/20/24 Angels lose $18.25 million left-hander to Red Sox in free agency. The Los Angeles Angels have been busy this offseason as they try to find a way back to contention for the first time since 2015. One of their biggest moves was the signing of left-hander Yusei Kikuchi, who got a three-year, $63 million deal. Left-hander Patrick Sandoval became a free agent at the end of the season, but the Halos ultimately did not bring him back. Instead, the 28-year-old left-hander inked a two-year, $18.25 million deal with the Boston Red Sox.
