Cliff Lee officially appealed his five-game suspension on Wednesday. Lee took part in a two-hour meeting with MLB officials, hoping to have his five-game sentence lowered or totally nullified. He'll find out the results within the next few days. The 31-year-old left-hander is currently on the disabled list with an abdomen injury and is hoping to return in early May.

Cliff Lee was pain free after a throwing session today. Hopefully he'll be able to avoid the DL to start the season. Perhaps his 5-game suspension will be a blessing in disguise, allowing him extra time to heal and avoid the DL.

Cliff Lee is appealing his five game suspension, and will have a hearing Monday, March 29. He is also still dealing with an abdominal strain. Either way, it appears that Lee will probably not be able to make his first regular season start.

Cliff Lee has been diagnosed with a lower abdominal strain that could lead to him opening the regular season on the 15-day DL. He has reason ultrasound treatment and will be re-evaluated in 7 days to determine whether or not he can break camp with the Mariners and pitch right after serving his 5-game suspension.

Lee underwent minor surgery on his left foot last Friday.
The surgery removed a floating bone spur in his left foot that broke from its attachment. He will not need a cast and is expected to resume normal baseball activities in the next two to three weeks.
