Roberts has moved to AA to continue his rehab and his return from the disabled list could come later this week. Fantasy owners had waited this long for Roberts to contribute so be sure he is actually activated from the DL prior to putting him in your lineup.

Roberts began a rehab assignment in the Gulf Coast League on Monday and is targeting his return on August 1st.

Manager Juan Samuel said that Roberts will resume baseball activities in the next week or so and the timetable for his return is 4-6 weeks.

Roberts was expected to begin playing in extended spring training games over the weekend but he has not played in any games and was scheduled to see team doctors again Tuesday for his ailing back. His return has been pushed back again.

Roberts has been cleared to resume baseball activities after a litany of maladies since the season began. He will work out with the team Wednesday and Thursday and then head to extended spring training when the team embarks on the upcoming road trip.

Not only is Roberts trying to come back from an abdominal strain and a herniated disc in his back, Roberts was recently admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. Once he recovers from the pneumonia, Roberts is expected to head to extended spring training to begin his rehab.

The health woes of Brian Roberts continue. He is currently suffering from flu-like symptoms and stomach discomfort and will undergo an endoscopy Thursday. He is on the DL with a strained abdominal muscle and struggled with back problems this spring. He has not resumed baseball activities yet.

Roberts made his spring training debut Friday after missing time due to a sore back. He struck out three times but experienced no pain in his back. He is expected to be ready for Opening Day.

Roberts received an epidural on Monday for the herniated disc in his back. He was expected to rejoin the team Tuesday but the team will wait a few days to see how Roberts' back responds to the treatment.

Roberts will have his sore back examined in Baltimore on Monday. He took infield prior to Sunday's exhibition game and indicated he did not suffer a setback. He is just looking for a more aggressive approach to treating his back.

GM Andy MacPhail stated Monday that Roberts will miss at least another week of exhibition games with his sore back. MacPhail also stated that he expects Roberts to be ready for the start of the season.
