Uwasawa, who will turn 30 years old prior to Spring Training, held a 2.96 ERA last season for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, the team with which he's spent his entire professional career (3.19 ERA, 173 G). Last year only 45 pitchers threw at least 160 innings at the major league level.
