4/26/25 | Angels first baseman exits vs Twins early with concerning injury. The Los Angeles Angels (12-13) are starting to look like the ballclub fans have seen far too much of over the last decade. An auspicious 9-5 start to the 2025 MLB season has since faded, with the Halos dropping two out of three games to the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates and getting thumped 11-4 by the Minnesota Twins on Friday. Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel fouled a ball off his right knee in the fourth inning of Saturday's matchup versus Minnesota, immediately bent over in pain and struggled to put weight on his leg, per MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger. 4/18/25 | Angels, in rare return home, open set vs. Giants. The Los Angeles Angels will begin a three-game series Friday night against the San Francisco Giants in Anaheim, Calif., after playing 15 of their first 18 games on the road. Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel went into the offseason looking to improve his numbers from last season. The 13 home runs overall were a disappointment, as 19 major league first basemen hit more long balls than Schanuel last year. Schanuel, who went 1-for-4 with a run in the Angels' 5-3 road loss to the Texas Rangers on Thursday, has hit two home runs this season -- which would put him on a pace for 18, an improvement from last year. 4/14/25 | If baseball's season were as short as football's, the conversation about parity would be different. Los Angeles Angels' Nolan Schanuel runs the bases after hitting a solo home run during the second inning of a baseball game against the Houston Astros, Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Houston. Imagine this scenario: With two games left in the season, the Los Angeles Angels lead the AL West by a half-game, needing just one victory over second-place Texas to clinch a remarkable worst-to-first division title and their first postseason berth since 2014. 4/13/25 | Angels’ Nolan Schanuel has improved his numbers with better bat speed. Schanuel is one of just three everyday players in the majors to increase his bat speed by at least 3 mph from last year to this year. His average and OPS are also up from last season. He hit his first homer of the season on Saturday. Source: https://www.ocregister.com/2025/04/13/angels-nolan... |
