The Los Angeles Angels have been extremely aggressive with their prospects this season, and Ben Joyce is no exception to that. The right-hander was selected in the third round of the 2022 MLB Draft. Joyce still did earn the call just one year after being drafted, earning a call-up in late May. It wasn't quite as fast as Nolan Schanuel, but it was pretty darn close. The Angels aren't going anywhere after the season, but they took a step toward finishing the season strong, not only by taking three of four from the Cleveland Guardians, but they got reinforcements who could play a role in the club's final 18 games. Before Sunday's 2-1 victory, the Angels got pitcher Ben Joyce and shortstop Zach Neto back from rehab assignments. Joyce is expected to see more action down the stretch, an opportunity the right-hander is looking forward to getting with Ohtani out of the rotation.
