4/29/24 Why Seattle Mariners are sending Jonathan Clase back down. The Seattle Mariners have optioned outfielder Jonatan Clase to Triple-A Tacoma and recalled utility player Sam Haggerty ahead of their series opener Monday with the Atlanta Braves, ending a two-week look at a very interesting M's prospect. When left fielder Dominic Canzone suffered an AC joint strain crashing into the wall on a tremendous play in a game against the Cubs, there was much speculation who would be called up to take his place on the Mariners' 26-man roster. Instead, the Mariners went with the 21-year-old Clase, who had played just 12 games above Double-A at the time.

3/07/24 Morosi: Seattle Mariners' Ryan Bliss potential rookie to watch. The Seattle Mariners are nearly two weeks into Cactus League play, and the names leading the team in hits are Ryan Bliss, Jonatan Clase and Tyler Locklear – a trio of prospects. All three could break into the big leagues somewhat soon, but the one who is likely the closest to playing at T-Mobile Park at this point is Bliss. The 5-foot-6, 165-pound second baseman is also a Mariners hitter who has caught the attention of a well-known MLB insider this spring.

2/22/24 Mariners top prospects Cole Young, Harry Ford could be on fast track to Seattle. When Cactus League play begins this weekend for the Mariners, shortstop Cole Young (No. 92), catcher Harry Ford (72), outfielder Jonatan Clase (85) and first baseman Tyler Locklear (87) will be wearing uniform numbers more often associated with NFL linemen. “They're really good prospects,” Servais said, “and you want to give them exposure to this level as much as you can.”

1/25/24 40 in 40: Last chance to get on the Jonatan Clase hype train early. Just a year or so ago it would be easy to say without error that most Seattle Mariners fans were not familiar with the name Jonatan Clase, or the player behind the name. The young outfielder hailing from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic first joined the Mariners organization when he signed as an international free agent in July of 2018.

The Sunday before that, Mother's Day, he hit his first-ever walkoff, dedicating it to his mom. Yesterday, Mother's Day in the Dominican Republic, he hit another home run, dedicating that one to his mom, as well.

3/09/23 Canada falls 5-3 in World Baseball Classic tune-up against MLB's Seattle Mariners. Kaden Polcovich's two-run homer in the eighth inning lifted the Seattle Mariners to a 5-3 win over Canada on Thursday in an exhibition game leading up to the World Baseball Classic. Down 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Zach DeLoach scored to tie the contest for Seattle after Jonatan Clase grounded out to first base. With Kean Wong having made it to third base on the same play, Polcovich later hit a shot to centre field to put the Mariners up two and seal the victory.

1/27/23 Mariners announce full professional development staff for 2023. Austin Knight, Field Coordinator (Latin America): This will be Knight’s seventh season with the Mariners but his first in a more managerial role as the Field Coordinator for the DSL complex. Last year Knight managed the Low-A Modesto Nuts; this year, he returns to the DR, where he managed the DSL team in 2019. Players under his tutelage speak fondly of Knight, especially Jonatan Clase, who credits Knight’s leadership for helping him transform from an under-the-radar signing to one of the organiz...
