5/11/25 Royals have the opportunity to finally take a series from Red Sox. The Kansas City Royals will try to accomplish something they haven't been able to do in nearly three years when they face the visiting Boston Red Sox in the rubber game of their three-game series on Sunday. Boston has won five consecutive series against the Royals dating back to Aug. 4-8, 2022, when Kansas City took three of four games. The Royals won Friday's series opener in walk-off fashion, 2-1, on Freddy Fermin's line-drive RBI single with one out in the bottom of the 12th inning. For the Royals, that was their 16th win in 18 games and seventh in a row.

4/30/25 Freddy Fermin, Royals look to capture series against Rays. The Kansas City Royals started their six-game swing through the American League East with a win Tuesday night in Tampa against the Rays, tallying their seventh victory in the past eight games. After that 3-1 victory, the Royals could capture their third consecutive series on Wednesday in the middle game of the three-game set. Much of the credit for the club getting back to .500 after an 8-14 start to the season goes to catcher Freddy Fermin, the backup to team captain Salvador Perez, according to Perez himself.
