It was announced earlier this morning that the Jays had designated Zulueta for assignment, and not long after, the Cincinnati Reds scooped him up. The 26-year-old was listed as the Jays' 17th-best prospect but was as high as third a few seasons ago.

1/16/24 Blue Jays add 28-year-old catcher off waivers. The Toronto Blue Jays are adding a bit of depth to their catching pool. The Jays claimed Brian Serven off waivers via the Chicago Cubs, the team announced via X on Tuesday. A 28-year-old from Palm Desert, California, Serven was designated for assignment by the Cubs last Thursday and never actually suited up for the franchise.
