1/01/25 Seattle Mariners Catcher Cal Raleigh Made Awesome Baseball History in 2024 Season. The Seattle Mariners went 85-77 this past season, missing the playoffs for the second consecutive year. The year was immensely frustrating as the M's squandered the best starting rotation in baseball and ended up firing longtime manager Scott Servais in his ninth year. The Mariners missed the playoffs by one game. Despite the team's failures, the year was a resounding success for catcher Cal Raleigh, who made some history in his 34 homer, 100-RBI campaign.

12/31/24 Seattle Mariners Catcher Cal Raleigh Says He's Against the Idea of Robo Umpires. Speaking this week on the Bret Boone podcast, Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh says he's against the idea of robo umpires. Despite frustrations from fans, Raleigh also says that he thinks major league umpires are very good and that they get appropriately graded for their performances. While he didn't say it explicitately, Raleigh may also not want to lose the art of pitch framing, which is something he's excellent at. Raleigh won the Gold Glove and Platinum Glove Awards in the American League this year.

12/26/24 YEAR IN REVIEW: First Game of Dan Wilson Era Stands Out For Seattle Mariners. This past year wasn't the season that the Seattle Mariners would have wanted. Cal Raleigh was arguably the best catcher in all of baseball, the Mariners starting pitching was also arguably the best in the majors and Victor Robles had a career resurgence and will have a starting role on the team for 2025. Seattle also began a new era in 2024. After nine years that included Seattle's first playoff berth in 21 years in 2022, Scott Servais was fired as manager on Aug. 22.

12/11/24 Mariners predicted to land $72 million slugger in much-needed blockbuster signing. It's a new offseason, but the same old problems exist for the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners have been unable to find a solid three-hole hitter to bat behind superstar Julio Rodríguez, and it's dragged the entire offense down. Cal Raleigh is the best power-hitting catcher in the league at the moment, but no one else in the lineup consistently does damage. Last winter, the Mariners attempted to fill the void behind Rodríguez with Mitch Garver, a former catcher converted into a designated hitter who had a solid year with the Texas Rangers in 2023.

On the same day that Cal Raleigh finished 12th in the American League Most Valuable Player voting, an interesting piece of news materialized about the Seattle Mariners star catcher. ESPN MLB insider Kiley McDaniel reported in a social media post on Thursday that Raleigh has dropped Scott Boras as his agent and switched his representation to Excel Sports Management.
