August 24 - The Los Angeles Angels reinstated right-hander Jose Soriano prior to Sunday's game against the visiting Chicago Cubs. Soriano is slated to start Monday's road game against the Texas Rangers. Soriano was initially placed on the paternity list Wednesday and allowed to miss up to three games. But he traveled to the Dominican Republic for the birth of his child and needed more time to get back so the Angels moved him to the restricted list on Saturday. Soriano, 26, is 8-9 with a 4.00 ERA in 26 starts this season, his third in the majors. He has set career highs for victories, innings pitched (148 2/3) and strikeouts (130).
