3/07/24 Chicago Cubs fans are sharing this feeling about the team in 2024. Recently, I wrote about the fact that I have faith in the Chicago Cubs' plan at first base. Over the last couple of weeks, we've found data that makes the case that Miguel Amaya and Christopher Morel both have the ability to become future stars for the Cubs. It's different when the fanbase as a whole, mirrors that sentiment and that was proven to be the case in a recent survey taken of baseball fans that found that Cubs fans are more excited for 2024 than any other fanbase in the NL Central.

2/04/24 Carter Hawkins reveals Chicago Cubs plans for first base. Chicago Cubs general manager Carter Hawkins joined 670 The Score's Inside the clubhouse on Saturday morning and one of the main takeaways was that the team appears to be expecting Miguel Amaya to take another step forward in his development. It would seem that the Cubs are expecting a transition from veteran Yan Gomes to Amaya this season in terms of who the everyday catcher will be and that may be a similar goal that the team has for Michael Busch. When the Cubs acquired Busch in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers last month, it was quickly identified that the top prospect was going to get an extended runway at being the team's first baseman during the 2024 season.

4/24/23 Chicago Cubs prospect Miguel Amaya off to scorching hot start in Double-A. The 2023 season is an important season for Chicago Cubs prospect Miguel Amaya as he entered the season fully healthy after an ankle injury toward the end of the 2022 season thwarted his initial return to catching duties after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2021. Amaya has started eight games at catcher with the Tennessee Smokies this season and the rust is there as he has three errors in a total of 69.2 innings at the position but the encouraging sign for the Cubs' prospect has been the offense. Through 37 plate appearances this season, Amaya is slashing .286/.432/.750 while posting a 202 wRC+ and .500 wOBA.

7/15/22 Cubs evaluating potential successors to Willson Contreras at catcher. He’s a power hitter who doesn’t strike out much, a great combination. He has a bright future ahead. Miguel Amaya, who was touted as a potential successor to Contreras before missing nearly the entire 2021 season to Tommy John surgery, might return to Double-A Tennessee before the end of the season.

4/16/22 Who will be removed from the Cubs' 28- and 40-man rosters to make room for Mark Leiter Jr.?. My long-ago plan was adding Miguel Amaya to the MLB 60-Day Injured List to free up a roster spot. That could, theoretically, still happen. Either a trade, DFA, or 60-Day event is incredibly likely before first pitch today.
