8/27/25 | Change-Up: Bat switch helps Blue Jays score three in the eighth of 9-8 win over Twins. An old bat was a difference-maker for the Toronto Blue Jays in a wild 9-8 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night. Ty France sparked an eighth-inning rally with a solo homer and Addison Barger emerged from a 2-for-30 slump with a two-run double to help the Blue Jays to their AL-best 40th comeback win of the year. Barger said France "randomly decided" to use one of his old bats from the cage before his pinch-hit appearance. "I haven't seen the bat since last year and he had a homer with it," Barger said. 8/01/25 | Blue Jays Pay High Price in Trade with Twins for Reliever, Veteran Bat. The Toronto Blue Jays made two pretty big moves right as the trade deadline clock was winding down on Thursday. The Minnesota Twins were willing to part with one of their best relievers in Louis Varland as well as their first baseman, Ty France. Toronto shipped Alan Roden, a rookie outfielder that has hellped the Blue Jays at the Major League level this year, along with Top 10 pitching prospect Kendry Rojas. 7/31/25 | Blue Jays Bolster Bullpen, Land Slugger in Last Minute Trade Deadline Deal With Twins. The Toronto Blue Jays were able to pull of a last second deal with the Minnesota Twins which has their bullpen in a much better spot. As first reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Blue Jays were able to land star right-handed reliever Louis Varland from Minnesota. Also included in the deal was veteran first baseman Ty France, giving Toronto some bench depth in addition to a shiny new reliever. Varland has had an incredible year with a 2.02 ERA over 51 appearances so far, collecting a bWAR of 1.8 while striking out 47 and walking just 13 in 49 innings pitched. 7/24/25 | The 5 most painful Minnesota Twins losses of the 2025 season (so far). The Twins' gut-wrenching loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday was far from their only brutally painful defeat of the season. Minnesota's 11-17 record in one-run games tells part of the story of their 49-53 overall record, which has their playoff hopes in a rough place (though certainly not dead) as July winds down. The Twins were mired in their worst stretch of the season, having lost 14 of 17 games entering this one at Target Field (including several ugly blowouts). Instead, they quickly rallied to tie it at 5-5, although they left meat on the bone in a four-run fourth inning when Ty France grounded into a double play with the bases loaded and no outs, followed by Byron Buxton striking out with one down and runners on the corners.
