2/14/25 | Astros sign Guillorme to Minor League deal. The Houston Astros have signed veteran infielder Luis Guillorme to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League Spring Training. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Dana Brown. Guillorme, 30, split his 2024 season between the Braves, Angels and Diamondbacks organizations, combining to appear in 79 games, while hitting .205 with nine doubles and 10 RBI. The versatile infielder played 55 games at second base, 15 at third base and five at shortstop in 2024. It was his sixth consecutive Major League season to appear in games at all three of those positions. The Houston Astros signed veteran infielder Luis Guillorme on Thursday to a minor league contract with an invitation to big league spring training. Guillorme, 30, could figure into the Astros' plans after free agent third baseman Alex Bregman reportedly signed a three-year contract with the Boston Red Sox after spending his nine-year career in Houston. The Astros traded for third baseman Isaac Paredes earlier this offseason in anticipation of not being able to re-sign Bregman, a two-time All-Star and Gold Glove winner last season. Guillorme, 30, started last season with the Braves and eventually spent time with the Angels and Diamondbacks before the year was over.
