9/05/25 Twins' Pablo Lopez reportedly set to return to face Royals. Looking to gain more ground in their push for an American League wild-card spot, the Royals open a three-game set against the lowly Minnesota Twins on Friday night. Kansas City is two games out of the final wild-card position after losing two of three to both to the Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles Angels to begin the nine-game homestand. "Let's just turn the page and keep attacking," said Kansas City closer Carlos Estevez, who recorded his career-high 37th save.

9/03/25 Phillies dud could be left off postseason roster, per MLB writer. The Philadelphia Phillies attempted to get cute during the offseason, and more often than not, that doesn't go as teams expect it to. Attempting to replace Carlos Estevez and Jeff Hoffman, the Phillies signed Jordan Romano. For moments throughout Romano's career, he's been an excellent closer, but to say things haven't worked out in Philadelphia would be taking it lightly. Romano has been one of the worst relievers in baseball and it's tough to ignore at this point.

9/02/25 Recently Released Phillies Pitcher Joe Ross Inks Deal With NL Contender. This past offseason, the Philadelphia Phillies went with a patchwork approach to their bullpen. Deciding to let closer Carlos Estevez and key right-hander Jeff Hoffman walk in free agency based on the price tags those two received, the Phillies opted to go with reclamation projects, signing Jordan Romano coming off an injury-plagued season and Joe Ross, who had performed well in his first year back from an extended absence due to Tommy John surgery. Unfortunately for Philadelphia, that approach has been nothing short of a disaster, with Romano being one of, if not the worst reliever in all of baseball while Ross could never put together a consistent stretch of play.

7/17/25 Yankees rumors: NY monitoring 2-time MLB All-Star pitcher ahead of trade deadline. The New York Yankees are eyeing upgrades to their bullpen, and one name generating serious buzz is Carlos Estevez. The two-time All-Star has emerged as a prime target as teams prepare for the trade deadline, with the Yankees reportedly monitoring him for several months. With the Yankees' bullpen dealing with inconsistency and a lack of reliable late-inning options, Estevez could be the kind of trusted arm they need to stabilize the unit.

7/13/25 Royals defeat Mets, 3-2, ahead of All-Star break. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The New York Mets fell into a similar pattern over the weekend against the Kansas City Royals, failing to produce offense in the early or middle innings, falling behind before coming back late. The comeback kids scored twice on closer Carlos Estevez in the ninth inning Sunday at Kauffman Stadium, tying the game going into the bottom half of the frame. But this time, the ...
