The conversations the Texas Rangers had with Jonah Heim over the winter should have centered around contract extensions, not leg extensions. The 2024 season was a total loss for the Rangers, but perhaps nobody felt it harder, especially financially, than Heim. A year earlier he was both the starting catcher in the All-Star Game and and a Gold Glove winner, in addition to pocketing the final strike of the World Series.
