1/30/25 | 'New' Trade Proposal Ships Braves $15 Million Former Rival Starter. Most of the potential MLB trade ideas have already been discussed at this late point in the offseason. One of them involved the Atlanta Braves adding veteran right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde. Reuter proposed the Braves send fellow starter Bryce Elder to the St. Louis Cardinals for Fedde. 1/02/25 | Guardians Again Connected To Pair Of Cardinals Pitchers, Per Report. The Cleveland Guardians could still benefit from adding a veteran arm or two to their starting pitching staff for the 2025 season. This need has been something many analysts have urged the Guardians to do in the new year. The price for starting pitching continues to be astronomical, so a trade for Cleveland makes the most sense. The Guardians continue to be connected to two pitchers as the season progresses: St. Louis Cardinals starters Erick Fedde and Steven Matz. 12/20/24 | MLB rumors: Tigers, Guardians interested in veteran Cardinals starters. The St. Louis Cardinals brass has made it clear all offseason long that their goal is to get younger entering the 2025 season, as they believe as though their veteran core has plateaued and that a soft reset is in order to get the proud franchise back to its usual level. To that end, the Cardinals have been making their veteran players available on the trade market — including two starting pitchers in Erick Fedde and Steven Matz. While Fedde and Matz are far from the flashiest starting pitchers to add to rotation, they should still command some interest on the trade market as veterans that won't cost much in terms of salary as well as prospect capital. 12/06/24 | Braves, Cardinals proposed trade would bring $15 million starter to Atlanta. The Atlanta Braves made the postseason in 2024 despite being decimated by injuries. Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly proposed a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals that brings Erick Fedde to the Braves. Max Fried and Charlie Morton are free agents. It's unclear exactly when Spencer Strider will be able to return to the mound after undergoing an internal brace procedure on his pitching elbow last April. 11/11/24 | Cardinals Predicted To Cut Ties With 'Interesting' Starter Soon. The St. Louis Cardinals have some serious choices to make in the not-so-distant future. Major League Baseball Winter Meetings will kick off in just a few weeks and will take place from Dec. 9-12 in Dallas, Texas. With that being said, that means that there are just a few weeks to go until the St. Louis Cardinals make a flurry of moves. St. Louis is expected to be active in the trade market, and FanSided's Thomas Gauvain predicted that starting pitcher Erick Fedde won't make it through Winter Meetings as a member of the Cardinals.
