2/07/25 | Giants predicted to reunite with $2.5 million former slugger. The San Francisco Giants missed the postseason after going 80-82 during the 2024 regular season. Willy Adames signed a seven-year, $182 million contract with the Giants, and the team also gave right-hander Justin Verlander a one-year, $15 million contract. San Francisco could use another right-handed bat, either as a platoon piece or somebody they can put in their lineup every day. Chad Jennings of The Athletic predicted that San Francisco would reunite with former slugger Mark Canha. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/san-francisco-... |
2/06/25 | Star Slugger Connected To San Francisco Giants Reunites With New York Mets. The San Francisco Giants addressed a major need this winter by signing Willy Adames. Locking him down with a seven-year deal that happened to be the most lucrative contract in franchise history gives the Giants one of the best left sides of the infield with Matt Chapman manning the hot corner. Adames also adds much-needed pop to the lineup, ideally becoming the first player to reach the 30-home run plateau since Barry Bonds donned this jersey. 2/04/25 | San Francisco Giants Trading First Baseman to Cincinnati Reds Could Be 'Win-Win'. With Spring Training right around the corner for the San Francisco Giants, the team is likely still looking to make some upgrades before the start of the season. It has been a mediocre offseason so far for the Giants. Currently, it's a bit hard to figure out what direction San Francisco is going in as a franchise. With money to spend, they were able to bring in two potential impact free agents Willy Adames and Justin Verlander. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/giants/san-francisco-giants... |
2/03/25 | Brewers Predicted To Add Former White Sox $70 Million Star To Opening Day Lineup. Don't expect any blockbuster signings, but the Milwaukee Brewers can still improve their roster before Opening Day arrives. The biggest loss for the Brewers to grapple with this season will be shortstop Willy Adames. The four-year Brewers standout took a $182 million deal to join the San Francisco Giants, and the Brewers have to replace his 32 home runs and excellent clubhouse leadership all in one go. It looks as though second-year standout Joey Ortiz will move from third base to shortstop, which leaves the hot corner as an open competition. 2/02/25 | Brewers Should Target Ex-Royals Slugger To Replace Willy Adames At Shortstop. The Milwaukee Brewers have been quiet this offseason. They lost Willy Adames to the San Francisco Giants in free agency and also traded Devin Williams to the New York Yankees. Milwaukee received Caleb Durbin and Nestor Cortes for Williams, which made for an underwhelming return package. They're going to need to do something if they want to remain on top in the National League Central. Both the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds have been active this winter. Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report lists Paul DeJong as the top available shortstop as the month of February begins. Perhaps Milwaukee could have a look at the former All-Star.
