1/22/25 New Red Sox pitcher is looking to learn from two established veterans in Spring Training. The Boston Red Sox have added a number of pitchers this offseason, who could end up playing big roles in the bullpen down the stretch, including Sean Newcomb, who Boston signed to a minor-league deal last week. Newcomb's deal also included a Spring Training invite which will allow him to work at the team's facility in Fort Myers, Florida. The former first-round pick is excited about the opportunity to speak to and learn from two Red Sox relievers who are expected to make their debuts for the club in 2025.

1/21/25 Former first-round pick breaks down decision to join Red Sox. Last week, the Boston Red Sox signed left-handed pitcher Sean Newcomb to a minor-league deal with a camp invite. The Middleboro, Massachusetts native was the 15th overall selection in the 2014 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Angels. Since then, he's spent time with the Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics, but now he's returning to his home state to play for his favorite team growing up.

1/20/25 Red Sox Newcomer Looks To 'Take' Roster Spot After Up-And-Down Journey. It is hard for it to not cross Sean Newcomb's mind. But the odds being against Newcomb won't stop him from battling it out with Boston's other less-cemented lefty relievers –Brennan Bernardino, Chris Murphy, Zach Penrod — and fellow non-roster invitees for a spot with the Red Sox.

1/19/25 Why Former Top Pitching Prospect Made 'Push' To Join Red Sox. Sean Newcomb had some options when determining his next baseball home this offseason. The former top pitching prospect with the Los Angeles Angels and Atlanta Braves said he had a “handful” of teams show interest in him. It all ended up coming to fruition like Newcomb hoped as the Boston Red Sox announced last week they signed the 6-foot-5, 255-pound left-handed pitcher to a minor league contract to go along with a non-roster invitation to spring training. “Kind of off the bat, I was feeling like it was time to give it a shot to try to sign with them,” Newcomb told NESN.com.
