4/27/10Cardinals catcher Jason LaRue is expected to be activated from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday, the first day he is eligible. LaRue has been out because of a strained right hamstring, but he's been working out and should be ready to go. LaRue last played on April 11 in Milwaukee. Bryan Anderson will almost certainly be optioned to Triple-A Memphis to make room for Anderson on the roster. "I think tomorrow is his day," manager Tony La Russa said before Monday's game against the Braves. "He's got to get through one more workout, but right now the expectation is that he'll get activated."
4/26/10Cardinals catcher Jason LaRue remains on schedule to return to action when he's eligible to come off the disabled list Tuesday. "I'm just a work in progress," said the 36-year-old veteran. "[Monday] is the next step and if all goes well, I'll be activated. There have been no setbacks." LaRue was placed on the disabled list April 14, retroactive to April 12, with a right hamstring pull. He suffered the injury running the bases.
4/24/10LaRue is expected to return from the DL on Tuesday.
4/14/10The Cardinals will place catcher Jason LaRue on the 15-day disabled list due to a strained right hamstring and will replace him on the active roster with catcher Bryan Anderson.
4/14/10Jason LaRue (hamstring) is likely to be placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday and Matt Pagnozzi is expected to be recalled.
4/12/10Jason LaRue will be unavailable until at least Wednesday and quite possibly longer as he attempts to recover from a right hamstring injury. The Cardinals' backup catcher suffered the injury in Sunday night's game against the Brewers. "It will be day to day," LaRue said. "It's a matter of, it's got to get better. If it doesn't get better, then, worst-case scenario, I would go on the DL. But right now I think we're optimistic that that won't have to happen. It's obviously sore, but it's definitely better than yesterday."
4/01/10The Cardinals received about the best possible news on backup catcher Jason LaRue on Wednesday when examinations revealed that LaRue has only a bone bruise on his left hand. He is listed as day-to-day, and said that he's already improving a day after suffering the injury.
