4/24/24 Michael Conforto sparks 5th-inning rally as Giants extend Mets losing streak to 3. Almost a decade ago, the Mets drafted outfielder Michael Conforto with the hope that someday he would break up no-hitters and start rallies against elite pitchers. Conforto did that Tuesday night at Oracle Park, but he did it against the Mets, breaking up Luis Severino's no-hit bid in the fifth inning to help the San Francisco Giants power past the Mets, 5-1. It was the third straight loss for the Mets (12-11) and snapped a streak of five straight series wins. Severino was perfect through four innings, going toe-to-toe with Giants' right-hander Logan Webb.

3/31/24 Jung Hoo Lee has SF Giants buzzing about his power potential. The constant cracks of the bat emanating from the cage at Scottsdale Stadium were no desert mirage. “Just the way the ball comes off his bat, the sound, you know it when you see it and when you hear it,” Michael Conforto said. Jung Hoo Lee did about all he could in spring training to put to rest any doubts about his ability to adjust to major-league pitching, peppering the middle of the field with line drives while batting .343 with a .911 OPS. Lee waited until his at-bat against lefty Tom Cosgrove in the eighth inning Saturday to unleash his most impressive swing yet, sending a 1-1 sweeper towering into the right field seats, 406 feet away, for his first MLB home run, kicking off a six-run rally in the eventual 9-6 win.

3/31/24 Conforto's grand slam, Lee's 1st MLB homer carry the Giants to a 9-6 win over the Padres. Michael Conforto hit a grand slam, rookie Jung Hoo Lee hit his first big league home run and Jordan Hicks won his San Francisco debut as the Giants beat Dylan Cease and the San Diego Padres 9-6. The Giants led 3-1 on just two hits going into the eighth before blowing it open. Lee, who signed with the Giants after playing seven seasons in the Korean Baseball Organization, homered to right-center with one out. The next six Giants batters reached base, with Wilmer Flores hitting an RBI single before Conforto sent his second career grand slam sailing into the seats in right.

3/28/24 Michael Conforto extends SF Giants' streak of Opening Day left fielders to 18. SAN DIEGO — The San Francisco Giants' streak of different Opening Day left fielders lived to see another year. Receiving the honor this season was Michael Conforto, who got the nod in left field Thursday against the Padres, becoming the 18th different player to start at the position since Barry Bonds last did so in 2007. It was all but guaranteed once Blake Sabol, last year's starter, was optioned to Triple-A. With Conforto a free agent after this season, the streak could easily reach 19 next year, which would match a 70-year-old MLB record for the most consecutive Opening Day starts by a different player at one position. That ignominious milestone is held by the St. Louis Browns/Baltimore Orioles

3/16/24 Why Michael Conforto opted in for another year with SF Giants. When Michael Conforto and his wife, Cabernet, welcomed their first son into the world this winter, that, they determined, was enough change for one offseason. A few months earlier, the Scott Boras client made the somewhat unexpected choice to pick up his option, ensuring young Camden, born Dec. 21, would split his first year between here, where the Confortos keep a home, and San Francisco. “A lot of factors went into it,” Conforto said, “but it ended up being a pretty easy decision.” The Giants' left fielder had about a month to mull his options once his season ended, but only five days from the conclusion of the World Series.

11/10/23 Conforto believes Giants players, not Kapler, deserve blame for collapse. Michael Conforto believes the Giants players have nobody to blame but themselves for the team's second-half collapse to close out the 2023 MLB season. Sitting 12 games over .500 on Aug. 3, the Giants (61-49) sat just 2.5 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West and had the third-best overall record in the league while maintaining sole possession of the first wild-card spot. San Francisco finished the season with an abysmal 18-34 record over its remaining 52 games and plummeted out of the playoff picture, which resulted in manager Gabe Kapler's firing before the final series of the season. Conforto joined KNBR 680's "Murph & Mac" on Thursday, where he was asked about the Giants' second-half collapse and if he was surprised that it resulted in the firing of his manager.

11/06/23 Ex-Mets OF to skip out on free agency in surprising move. Michael Conforto knows what it's like to test free agency and fail. After the 2021 season, he declined a one-year $18.4 million qualifying offer from the Mets and instead became a free agent. More than a year after declaring for free agency, the Giants signed him to a two-year, $36 million deal with a player opt-out, which Conforto chose not to exercise.

11/06/23 Report: Michael Conforto opts into Giants contract for 2024 season. The Giants' outfield reportedly will see a key piece return in 2024. Right fielder Michael Conforto has opted into the final year of the two-year, $36 million contract he signed with San Francisco last offseason, the New York Post's Jon Heyman reported Monday. Conforto had been one of the better hitters in MLB for a handful of years but missed the entire 2022 season after undergoing shoulder surgery in April of that year, which allowed the Giants to take a flier on the veteran slugger last offseason. In 125 games with the Giants last season, Conforto batted .239/.334/.384 with 15 home runs and 58 RBI in 406 at-bats with a nearly-league average 99 OPS+.

10/26/23 Player Review: Michael Conforto. 2023 stats: 406 AB, 125 G, .239/ .334/ .384 (.718 OPS), 99 OPS+, 0.7 WAR (B.Ref.) Noteworthy stat: 7.9 Barrel% (lowest in his career), 31.9 Sweet Spot% (lowest in his career) Michael Conforto's 2023 wasn't anything special. In fact, it was metrically average with a 100 wRC+ and 99 OPS+. His .718 OPS and 15 home runs were career lows, and he is now four whole seasons removed from his 33 home run season. Defensively he graded poorly but still came with its highlights and personal triumphs after missing all of '22 with a shoulder surgery that hampered the corner outfielder's ability to throw the ball. His ability to play in 125 games and get 470 plate appearances was enough to trigger his player
