The Brewers announced Monday that Haase had been sent outright to Nashville. The 31-year-old Haase was designated for assignment Thursday. Although Haase batted .395 with a .465 on-base percentage, five homers and 14 RBIs in 18 Cactus League games, he was unable to make the Brewers' season-opening roster. Eric Haase's productive spring wasn't enough for the Michigan native to land a spot on the Milwaukee Brewers' Opening Day roster. Despite a strong showing, the former Detroit Tigers catcher was designated for assignment on Thursday, per the MLB Trade Rumors. Haase signed a one-year contract with the Brewers in December and batted .395 with five home runs and three doubles in 43 plate appearances. Eric Haase, who grew up in Westland, attended Dearborn's Divine Child High School and now lives with his family in Livonia, was designated for assignment on Saturday. The move comes amid a frustrating offensive season for Haase, who was perhaps the Tigers' best offensive player in 2022 but has struggled mightily in 2023.
