5/11/25 | Rockies' miserable season hits a new low with 21-0 loss to Padres. The Colorado Rockies are reluctant to label themselves a rebuilding team, but after Saturday night it might be more accurate to say they're imploding. Colorado hit rock bottom so far in a season that has gone south from the start, losing 21-0 to the San Diego Padres. It was the Rockies' eighth straight defeat and they are 6-33, the worst 39-game start since the 1988 Baltimore Orioles opened with the same record. Things got so out of hand Saturday at Coors Field that manager Bud Black used catcher Jacob Stallings to pitch the final two innings — and he proved to be one of the team's most effective arms all night. 4/23/25 | Reeling Rockies face Royals, seek rare road win. Even when the Colorado Rockies delivered a stunning bases-clearing hit to take a ninth-inning lead, they still couldn't land a road victory. The Rockies' road losing streak stands at 11 as they visit the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night in the finale of a two-game set. Colorado was one strike away from being shut out Tuesday before Jacob Stallings hit a three-run double in the top of the ninth inning. "We strung together three really good walks off a really good pitcher who was around the plate with good stuff," Colorado manager Bud Black told reporters, referencing Kansas City closer Carlos Estevez.
