| 7/07/25 | Ex-Tigers infielder signs minor-league deal with Yankees after expensive release. Former Detroit Tigers infielder Jeimer Candelario is getting back to work on a new minor-league deal with the New York Yankees following a recent release from the Cincinnati Reds. After struggling early in a three-year contract, Candelario, 31, was let go from the Reds, seeing the organization eat about $22.5 million in dead money just to offload the injury-plagued veteran. Across 134 games with the Reds, Canderlario was slashing .207/.265/.394 and starting out the 2025 season hitting a measly .113 with 29 strikeouts to nine walks.
