9/04/25 | Why the Blue Jays continue to have faith in Jose Berrios despite his struggles. José Berríos is having a rough time lately. Tuesday night's implosion, when the wheels fell off after a second-inning throwing error by Isiah Kiner-Falefa — although back-to-back doubles had preceded it — led to him reducing an 8-1 Blue Jays' lead to 8-6, throwing 66 pitches in just two innings of work and leaving seven innings for the Jays' beleaguered bullpen to handle. Over his past 11 starts, the right-hander has posted a 5.47 ERA and a 1.462 WHIP, allowing 11 home runs and pitching just 52 2/3 innings. Incredibly, the Jays have gone 9-2 in those games, including Tuesday's 12-9 victory in Cincinnati. Source: https://www.therecord.com/sports/baseball/why-the-... |

8/27/25 | Wednesday Bantering: Jays Bits. Winning the series would be a good thing. Please Jays. The Jays are giving Jose Berrios a few extra days. Seems like a good move to me. I like the idea of using the extra starter to give guys a breather here and there. Today’s lineup. No Clement (I didn’t understand them leaving him in […] Source: https://sports.yahoo.com/article/wednesday-banteri... |
8/12/25 | Javier Assad's Return To Rotation Can't Boost Cubs Past Blue Jays. The Chicago Cubs are now 4-6 for the month of August after losing to the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-1, in the first game of a three-game series at Rogers Centre in Toronto. The Cubs (67-51) were at the mercy of Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios (9-4) and a terrific bullpen performance to limit Chicago to four hits and one run. Chicago's offensive malaise continued north of the border. The Blue Jays (70-50) remained one of baseball's best home teams and handed newly activated Cubs starter Javier Assad (0-1) his first loss in a year. 8/05/25 | Fresh off rout, Blue Jays vie for series win vs. Rockies. The Toronto Blue Jays are in first place in the American League East due in large part to their dominant play at Rogers Centre. Toronto will have a chance to clinch the series on Tuesday night when it sends Jose Berrios (7-4, 3.84 ERA) to the mound against Colorado's Anthony Molina (0-0, 7.27) in a battle of right-handers.
