10/09/24 Revisiting the Diamondbacks' moves last offseason. Revisiting the Arizona Diamondbacks' offseason moves at the halfway point of 2024 and following an 89-win season are different experiences. Big-ticket free agent pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez had not even thrown a pitch yet, while third baseman Eugenio Suarez struggled to get off the ground before a huge second-half turnaround. The Diamondbacks once again enter a critical winter for their contending window as they look to step into the 90s for wins and ensure a postseason spot next year. Christian Walker is their top free agent, but there are several option decisions and potential upgrades to make, namely to the bullpen.

9/27/24 Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez pitching Saturday vs. Padres. The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Eduardo Rodriguez will start Saturday in Game 2 against the San Diego Padres, as the team is now on the outside looking in for one of two remaining NL Wild Card berths. Through nine starts, Rodriguez has earned a 5.56 ERA and crossed the sixth-inning threshold in just one of those appearances, an 11-strikeout outing against the Colorado Rockies on Sept. 18. With the Atlanta Braves shutting out the Kansas City Royals 3-0 and a New York Mets loss, Arizona is locked in a three-way tie for the final two Wild Card positions.

9/23/24 D-backs open final week with lackluster loss to Giants. Arizona Diamondbacks starter Eduardo Rodriguez failed to get out of the fifth inning before giving up five runs to the San Francisco Giants in a 6-3 loss at Chase Field on Monday to open the final week of the regular season. Rodriguez walked off the mound trailing 5-2 with two outs in the fourth and runners on the corners. Scott McGough escaped the jam to close the book on a disappointing follow-up to Rodriguez's 11-strikeout day in Colorado. Giants third baseman Matt Chapman zipped around the bases for a go-ahead, inside-the-park home run — the first from a Giants player since 2017 (Denard Span) — to give San Francisco a 3-1 lead in the third inning.

9/18/24 Diamondbacks look to stop slide vs. Rockies. The Diamondbacks' push to return to the postseason has hit a bump in Denver this week. Arizona has dropped the first two games of a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies, tightening the National League wild-card race. The Diamondbacks will try to salvage the series finale when Eduardo Rodriguez (2-3, 5.50 ERA) takes the mound against Colorado's Austin Gomber (5-10, 4.44) on Wednesday afternoon.

9/07/24 Rodriguez, Floro Pounded by Astros in Diamondbacks 11-5 Loss. The Houston Astros beat up on the Arizona Diamondbacks at Minute Maid Park for the second straight game, this time by a score of 11-5. With the loss the D-backs' record drops to 79-64 and their lead over the Mets in the NL Wild Card shrinks to just a half game. The Diamondbacks' pitching is among the worst in the league. It was another disappointing, but at this point unsurprising outing for Eduardo Rodriguez Saturday afternoon against the Astros.
