10/12/24 Padres urged to reunite with $130 million superstar in free agency. The San Diego Padres were eliminated by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series. While listing free agents the Padres should sign, FanSided's Zach Pressnell urged the team to reunite with Blake Snell after he opts out of his deal. "The top talent that the Padres should pursue, if Juan Soto is considered off the table, is another player that they should have never let go, Blake Snell," wrote Pressnell. "The Padres should have offered Snell the massive contract extension that he was looking for last offseason rather than letting him land with the Giants and up his value a bit."

10/11/24 San Francisco Giants Beat Writer Offers Opinion on Potential Jordan Hicks Role. The San Francisco Giants made a lot of moves with their pitching staff in the offseason leading into the 2024 campaign. There were headline grabbers, such as signing reigning Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell and trading for former winner of the award, Robbie Ray. There were also some more slightly under the radar additions, such as Jordan Hicks. It took Snell until July to find his groove and he is poised to hit the free agent market again after a really strong summer.

10/11/24 San Francisco Giants Ace Linked to Los Angeles Dodgers in MLB Free Agency. The expectation around Major League Baseball is for Blake Snell to opt out of his contract with the San Francisco Giants. If he returns, he'd give the Giants a left-handed pitcher who's arguably the best in baseball. Perhaps it does, considering how rough his free agency was a year ago, but that's not expected to be the case once again. There's also a possibility that if he wants to return to San Francisco, both sides could get a new deal done.

10/09/24 San Francisco Giants Biggest Question Continues To Be About Lack of Success in FA. It's interesting because while the San Francisco Giants haven't necessarily hit on a big-name free agent over the past few offseasons, they've still done well for themselves. Blake Snell and Matt Chapman were two of the hottest names on the free agency market last winter. Despite them signing contracts with opt-outs, the Giants' front office made the right decision by signing both. The Giants need a guy like Juan Soto, but there have been challenges in landing those players over the past few offeasons.
