7/18/25 | Should Yankees' Max Fried Pickle His Hand?. New York Yankees starting pitcher Max Fried, currently suffering from a blister on his left index finger, might benefit from an old-school baseball remedy. At the halfway point, the Yankees are in need of some pitching talent to make up for losses due to injury. Most recently, with Ryan Yarbrough and Clarke Schmidt down for the count, the organization has turned their eyes to the open market, ideally making a move for a starter and/or reliever at the coming trade deadline. The blister caused Fried to leave the Yankees' last game in a recent series with the Chicago Cubs, a game that ultimately ended in a Yankees loss just before All-Star Week. 7/15/25 | Red Sox Legend Sends Message To Garrett Crochet. There's no way around it, the Boston Red Sox made one of the most impactful moves of this past offseason. Boston needed to add a left-handed pitcher into the mix for its righty-dominated rotation and after missing out on Max Fried to the New York Yankees, went out and acquired lefty star Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox for prospects. Crochet has been a revelation for Boston and is a serious contender for the American League Cy Young Award right now. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/red-sox/boston-red-sox-news... |
7/15/25 | Max Fried Injury Could Affect Yankees Second Half. New York Yankees starting pitcher Max Fried will be unable to participate in today's All-Star Game, hindered by a blister on his left index finger. "I don't want to go too soon or too quick where it lingers and becomes a problem," Fried said, per ESPN's Jorge Castillo. The Yankees, already on shaky ground in the American League East partially due to pitching depth issues, are heading toward the trade deadline with pitching improvements on the brain. The Yankees lost Clarke Schmidt for the rest of the season on July 4 to a forearm injury requiring Tommy John surgery. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/yankees/news/max-fried-inju... |
