Evans was named to the Seattle Mariners' 40-man roster and got the nod to start against the Miami Marlins on Sunday, giving the rookie right-hander little time to get out any jitters. After forcing two ground outs to start the game, the former Saline baseball star gave up a home run in the first inning to Miami Marlins' slugger Austin Ramirez.
