4/25/25 Guardians Must Be Patient With Power-Hitting Outfielder. The Cleveland Guardians knew they needed more offense from their outfield heading into the 2025 season, specifically in the power department. This void led the front office to trade for Nolan Jones just before Opening Day. The former Cleveland draft pick had a stellar 2023 season with the Colorado Rockies, followed by an injury-filled 2024 campaign.

4/09/25 Three Cleveland Guardians On The Verge Of Breaking Out. The Cleveland Guardians' offense hasn't necessarily been off to a hot start in 2025. The bats have gone cold after some impressive individual performances in the opening road trip. Here are three Guardians on the verge of breaking out with the bats. Nolan Jones is only hitting .250 (3-for-8) on the season, but he's also had some of the best at-bats by a Guardians hitter and is clearly seeing the ball well at the plate.

4/09/25 Guardians continuing current path. Same date, same team, same outcome. The 2025 Cleveland Guardians home opener Tuesday (April 8) against the Chicago White Sox was similar to last season. The Guardians eventually won 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth on a Nolan Jones walk-off walk. Last opening day, Cleveland captured a 4-0 win. The things missing were a total solar eclipse, and a bit warmer weather. It was Cleveland’s first time ...

4/08/25 Nolan Jones draws walk with bases-loaded to give Guardians 1-0 victory over White Sox in home opener. Nolan Jones drew a bases-loaded walk from Mike Clevinger in the ninth inning, and the Cleveland Guardians won their home opener 1-0 over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. It was the first 1-0 game that ended with a walk-off walk since the Los Angeles Dodgers beat San Diego on May 1, 2009. Carlos Santana reached on an infield single off first baseman Andrew Vaughn's glove starting the ninth for his second hit of the game.

3/27/25 Nolan Jones vocal on reuniting with Guardians after Rockies trade. When Nolan Jones was pulled from the Rockies' Cactus League lineup last Saturday, he didn't know where he was going—only that he was being traded. “I did not see myself coming back here,” Jones admitted. Freeman had also been pulled from his lineup in Cleveland and told he'd been traded—but not to whom. Jones told him, “I might have an idea where you're going.”

3/24/25 Cleveland Guardians Make Roster Moves Following Recent Trade. Opening Day is this week, but that hasn't prevented the Cleveland Guardians from making significant roster decisions with just days left in spring training. The organization made a trade to acquire OF Nolan Jones from the Colorado Rockies, and the aftermath of that deal is now hitting the big league roster with their recent moves. Jones' addition to the Guardians meant there was one too many outfielders in the mix. The odd man out was Will Brennan, who Cleveland optioned to Triple-A on Monday afternoon.

3/24/25 Colorado Rockies' Tyler Freeman Recounts Wild Story Behind Nolan Jones Trade. When Nolan Jones got pulled from the Colorado Rockies' spring training game against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, the outfielder had a feeling he was on the move. Jones decided to FaceTime one of his old friends from his days in the Cleveland Guardians' farm system, utility man Tyler Freeman, to chat about it. As is turned out, Freeman was facing a similar situation himself. "We're pretty close so we're talking and he goes 'Hey, I was pulled, I think I'm traded,' and I was like 'Brother, I think I'm traded too,'" Freeman said, per Just Baseball's Patrick Lyons.

3/01/25 Can Nolan Jones be the comeback kid? The Rockies are counting on it. Rockies outfielder Nolan Jones learned that harsh lesson last season. The Rockies would turn cartwheels if the 26-year-old Jones can do that and earn the starting job in left field. “We think Nolan's capable of being an everyday player,” manager Bud Black said.

2/11/25 Colorado Rockies trio of RF prospects bring excitement in 2025. If you watched much of the Colorado Rockies in 2024, you got used to a lot of things. Health issues and a sophomore slump kept Nolan Jones from adding his name to that incredibly short list but those three have been the biggest, and at times only, reasons for excitement the last two years. With few offseason moves made, and Thairo Estrada (solid as he is) unlikely to provide a wave of fresh joy, fans are left with few positions on the diamond upon which they can dream. There's some potential with Michael Toglia, who took over at first base by the end of last season and has massive raw power paired with excellent defense.

11/27/24 Infant daughter's health scare put baseball into perspective for Rockies' Nolan Jones. Sleepless, scary nights and diaper duty changed Nolan Jones. “Kamryn changed my life,” the Rockies outfielder said. The birth of Jones' first child, followed by her health scare and recovery, gave Jones a precious gift. “My own parents (Tom and Regina) sacrificed so much for me, and I could not ask for anything more,” Jones said.

8/21/24 Nolan Jones, Rockies shoot for another win vs. Nationals. Colorado Rockies outfielder Nolan Jones is heading into the late stages of a disappointing season marked by multiple injuries. Finally healthy, Jones is eager to finish the season in a positive manner. Jones figures prominently in the long-term plans of the Rockies, who continue a three-game series against the host Washington Nationals on Wednesday. In his first game back from the injured list, the 26-year-old Pennsylvania native played a key role in the Rockies' 3-1 win on Tuesday.

8/01/24 Rockies' Nolan Jones: “It's been a mental and physical battle for me this year”. Nolan Jones never saw this season coming. Not after what he did in 2023 when he became the first Rockies rookie to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases. “It's been a physical and mental battle for me this year, and I'm trying to stay positive and know that my time is coming,” Jones said. On Tuesday night, Jones took a small step in the right direction, going 1 for 4 with a two-run home run in a rehab game at Low-A Fresno.

7/10/24 Rockies Mailbag: Can Nolan Jones rebound? Is Colorado bad at drafting?. Pose a Rockies- or MLB-related question for the Rockies Mailbag. Was 2023 Nolan Jones' ceiling? Kyle, I don't think Jones peaked last season when he slashed .297/.389/.542 with 20 homers and 20 stolen bases in 106 games. The Rockies have a lot of talented outfielders in the pipeline, so he'll have competition for a job.
