5/25/25 Former San Diego Padres Farmhand Joins Hall of Famers in Esteemed History with Nationals. Former San Diego Padres prospect MacKenzie Gore has just joined some illustrious history as a member of the Washington Nationals, according to @JayHayKid of Underdog Fantasy. 5/23/25 MacKenzie Gore is Not the Only Nationals Pitcher Finding Their Stride This Season. The Washington Nationals have had a tough start to their 2025 season, putting together a 22-27 record, which is good for fourth in the National League East, ahead of only the Miami Marlins. This is heavily a product of their team being highly reliant on their young core of players, and as they continue to work through the growing pains of the MLB level, the team will still need time to turn things around fully. The team seems to have found a young ace in MacKenzie Gore, who has been outstanding throughout the 2025 campaign and continues to develop his game each start he makes. One of the other starting pitchers in the rotation has been overlooked, however, and that is Jake Irvin.

5/21/25 Injury to Star Nationals Outfielder Comes at Inopportune Time. The Washington Nationals have used 2025 as another stepping stone in the development of their young core of talent. Pitcher MacKenzie Gore has become one of the preeminent strikeout artists in the game today, while CJ Abrams and James Wood have each started to make names for themselves as power threats at the plate. While those pieces of the young core have taken massive steps forward, the Nationals have waited on one of their top draft picks to do the same. To this point in his career at the Major League level, Dylan Crews has failed to find consistent success.

5/18/25 Nationals Rebuild Coming Together After Dominant Sweep Over Local Rivals. Two years ago, no one quite knew what to expect from the Washington Nationals. MacKenzie Gore hadn't quite hit. CJ Abrams was going through some major struggles in the field and inconsistent play on offense. In comparison to other rebuilds taking place around Major League Baseball -- especially the one down the Beltway featuring the Baltimore Orioles -- the Nationals' looked bleak.

5/16/25 Orioles injury updates: Tyler O'Neill scratched from lineup vs. Nationals. Brandon Hyde was asked about his lineup Friday against Nationals left-handed pitcher MacKenzie Gore, and the Orioles manager pointed straight to the elephant in the room. “We haven't exactly lit up lefties, I don't know if you've noticed,” Hyde quipped. “We don't have the best numbers against lefties.” If the Orioles are going to turn around their performance against left-handed pitchers (and their season) Friday, they'll have to do so without Tyler O'Neill, one of their highest-paid hitters who was signed this offseason because of his success versus southpaws.

5/16/25 Nationals Emerging Young Ace Dominating With Two Elite Pitches in Arsenal. The Washington Nationals have to feel good about their outlook when it comes to their starting rotation. A solid trio has emerged at the Major League level with MacKenzie Gore, Jake Irvin and Mitchell Parker. If Cade Cavalli, Josiah Gray and DJ Herz can bounce back from their respective elbow surgeries, it is even more impressive depth to add to the mix. Don't forget the youngsters making their way through the minor league system, such as top prospects Travis Sykora, Jarlin Susana and Alex Clemmey.

5/15/25 Burgeoning Nationals Ace Earns Votes in First NL Cy Young Poll. The Washington Nationals have enjoyed a breakout campaign for their ace and he could be playing himself into the conversation for one of baseball's most prestigious awards. MLB.com released its first NL Cy Young poll of the season and MacKenzie Gore received some attention. Los Angeles Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto had a hefty lead as he received 22 first-place votes and no one else had more than four. The Nationals acquired Gore from the San Diego Padres back in 2022 as a part of the infamous Juan Soto trade.

5/12/25 Washington Nationals' Ace Still Has Room for Improvement In Key Area. It has been a few years since the Washington Nationals could claim to have a legitimate ace. With the breakout performance from MacKenzie Gore this year, they may be able to make that claim again sooner rather than later. It has been a fantastic season for Gore through his first nine starts. While it has been a great year to this point, Gore is still just 26.

5/08/25 Washington Nationals' Ace Powers His Way Into Pitcher Power Rankings. The Washington Nationals may not have what it takes to contend for a playoff berth this season, but they are not far off and can play spoiler to those who are right there. The young core they have assembled over the last few years is coming into their own at the Major League level and quickly becoming household names in the process. No player on the roster may fit into that category as well as the team's ace, MacKenzie Gore. Gore, 26, came to the Nationals as part of the trade that sent Juan Soto to the San Diego Padres.

4/30/25 Star Washington Nationals Shortstop Picking Up Where He Left Off After Injury. The Washington Nationals continue to be a fascinating team for their fans and those around the league to keep an eye on as the month of April comes to a close. The group's impressive core of young hitters is performing about as well as could have been expected, and ace MacKenzie Gore has found a new gear as one of the top strikeout artists in all of MLB. Despite an injury interrupting a red-hot start to a crucial season in his young career, shortstop CJ Abrams has picked up right where he left off and still looks like one of the best young hitters in the sport. The 24-year-old Georgia native was, along with Gore, one of the headliners the Nationals got from the San Diego Padres in return for Juan Soto.
