4/27/25 Cardinals Need To Trade $7.5 Million Pitcher Before He Rapidly Declines. The St. Louis Cardinals need to trade their starting pitcher, Erick Fedde, as soon as possible. First off, the Cardinals should have traded Fedde in the offseason following his career season with the Chicago White Sox and the Cardinals. Fedde's contract expires at the end of the season. Trading him makes plenty of sense for the state of the Cardinals' rebuild.

4/25/25 Cardinals Could Target Young Red Sox Star In Blockbuster Trade. The St. Louis Cardinals have a lot of potential trade pieces. Erick Fedde and Sonny Gray are two veteran starting pitchers who could be moved this season. Gray is more consistent and likely to be more valuable in a deal, so he could be traded, too. Closer Ryan Helsley is on an expiring contract, too, so he's another candidate to be traded.

4/24/25 Cardinals trade deadline idea sends $15 million hurler to Yankees. The St. Louis Cardinals are off to a dreadful 10-15 start in 2025. The Cardinals have a few pieces they could sell off before July 31. One such piece is right-hander Erick Fedde. Brendan Smith of FanSided proposed the idea of the New York Yankees calling the Cardinals about Fedde's availability.

4/20/25 Cardinals Need To Cut Ties With Struggling Relief Pitcher. The St. Louis Cardinals have seemingly waved the white flag for the 2025 season, but that's not entirely a bad thing. A rebuilding year is necessary for almost all teams in baseball, unless you're the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, or New York Yankees and can afford to dish out $1 billion in contracts in one offseason. For the Cardinals, the rebuilding year in 2025 is going to be used to build up the farm system, develop the young core, and build confidence throughout these young stars. This could result in the Cardinals trading away players like Erick Fedde and Ryan Helsey, both of which don't have a future in St. Louis beyond this season.

4/10/25 Fedde understands hook with no-hitter in play. Cardinals pitcher Erick Fedde did not give up any hits vs. the Pirates, but he understands why manager Oliver Marmol pulled him after six innings.

4/09/25 Cardinals' Erick Fedde understands Marmol's decision to pull him with a no-hitter possible. Erick Fedde did not give up any hits on Wednesday, but his walks prevented him from throwing a no-hitter. The St. Louis Cardinals right-hander pitched six innings on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Four walks drove up his pitch count to 88 and manager Oliver Marmol did not want Fedde to go any further.

4/05/25 Cardinals Could Capitalize On AL Contender's Desperation In Massive Trade. The St. Louis Cardinals have a few starting pitchers on their hands that they really don't need. The three that come to mind are Erick Fedde, Miles Mikolas, and Sonny Gray, but each for a different reason. Mikolas is overpaid and not an above average starter. While it would be great for the Cardinals to trade him, it's unlikely anybody takes on his contract.

3/26/25 Cardinals trade idea sends $7.5 million starter to Phillies. The St. Louis Cardinals didn't accomplish much last offseason. One player that they would have been wise to trade was right-hander Erick Fedde. The Philadelphia Phillies will begin the season without Ranger Suarez. Drew VonScio of Newsweek proposed the idea of St. Louis sending Fedde to Philadelphia while they wait for Suarez to recover.

3/17/25 MLB roundup: Fedde solid over 5 innings as Cardinals beat Nationals. Erick Fedde allowed just one unearned run over five solid innings as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Washington Nationals, 6-2, on Monday in Palm Beach, Fla. 3/06/25 Cardinals 10-Time Gold Glover Returning To True Form Following Rigorous Offseason. The St. Louis Cardinals might have lost 12-1 to the National League East-rival Washington Nationals on Thursday but the club can take several positives from the spring training exhibition. For instance, right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde logged a solid three-innings pitched without sacrificing a run on two walks and one strikeout, lowering his spring training ERA to 1.50. In addition to Fedde's refreshing performance, another Cardinals veteran made an outstanding play that should be recognized. Hopefully, 2025 will be a resurgent season for the fan favorite.

2/27/25 Guardians Predicted to Swing Big Trade Breakout Pitcher. The Cleveland Guardians needed pitching last season, and now, heading into the 2025 MLB campaign, they still find themselves in need of arms. More specifically, the Guardians need help with their starting rotation, which was among the league's worst in 2024 and is once again a massive question mark in spring training. Well, Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller is expecting the Guardians to make a trade for a pitcher at some point, and he thinks the answer may be St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Erick Fedde. "But if the Guardians are anywhere close to a playoff spot at the deadline, getting back Shane Bieber from Tommy John surgery and adding in an inexpensive arm like Fedde's could anchor a late push, as this is presently one of the bleakest rotations," Miller wrote.

2/26/25 Guardians Should Still Consider Trade for Cardinals Starting Pitcher. The Cleveland Guardians have undeniably improved their starting pitching depth from a year ago. While it's unclear what the production will look like, there are plenty of arms in the organization that can start games for the Guardians. Cleveland's front office should still consider adding another starting pitcher. St. Louis Cardinals' Erick Fedde is one who could be available and should be at the top of the Guardians' list.

2/25/25 Cardinals Could Trade $15 Million Starter To Mets Following Recent Injuries. The St. Louis Cardinals are in the middle of a reset period and have put contending on the backburner for the foreseeable future. Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Monday that teams believe the Cardinals are open to moving right-hander Erick Fedde in the near future. "What made Erick Fedde so appealing to the Cardinals at the trade deadline is what means he could be on the move again if the Cardinals want to trade now for the future," Goold reported.

2/22/25 Erick Fedde went a long way to reach Cardinals. How 'cheap' contract could mean another move. For the fourth consecutive spring training Erick Fedde is with a different team, continuing his journey of career discovery that has spanned three big-league clubs, two countries and brought back one different pitcher to the same place he started — on a Grapefruit League mound in Palm Beach County, Florida. A familiar face this time of year pitching for the nearby Washington Nationals, Fedde opened the spring exhibition season for the Cardinals on Saturday at Roger Dean Stadium with a brisk scoreless first inning on 16 pitches. Fedde allowed two infield singles to Miami — one that clipped a runner for a dead ball and the other on a meek groundball stopped dead a few strides from home plate. In between his last pitch for the Nationals in 2022 and the first pitch for the 2025 Cardinals, Fedde reinvented himself with a historic 2023 season in South Korea.

1/30/25 'New' Trade Proposal Ships Braves $15 Million Former Rival Starter. Most of the potential MLB trade ideas have already been discussed at this late point in the offseason. One of them involved the Atlanta Braves adding veteran right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde. Reuter proposed the Braves send fellow starter Bryce Elder to the St. Louis Cardinals for Fedde.

1/02/25 Guardians Again Connected To Pair Of Cardinals Pitchers, Per Report. The Cleveland Guardians could still benefit from adding a veteran arm or two to their starting pitching staff for the 2025 season. This need has been something many analysts have urged the Guardians to do in the new year. The price for starting pitching continues to be astronomical, so a trade for Cleveland makes the most sense. The Guardians continue to be connected to two pitchers as the season progresses: St. Louis Cardinals starters Erick Fedde and Steven Matz.

12/20/24 MLB rumors: Tigers, Guardians interested in veteran Cardinals starters. The St. Louis Cardinals brass has made it clear all offseason long that their goal is to get younger entering the 2025 season, as they believe as though their veteran core has plateaued and that a soft reset is in order to get the proud franchise back to its usual level. To that end, the Cardinals have been making their veteran players available on the trade market — including two starting pitchers in Erick Fedde and Steven Matz. While Fedde and Matz are far from the flashiest starting pitchers to add to rotation, they should still command some interest on the trade market as veterans that won't cost much in terms of salary as well as prospect capital.
