5/20/25 Seattle Mariners' Pitchers Make Wild History Not Seen Since 1943 in Recent Run. The Seattle Mariners enter play on Tuesday night at 27-19 and in first place in the American League West. The M's have won four consecutive games, taking the first four games of a daunting road trip through San Diego, the White Sox and Houston. The home run ball has certainly been prevalent in this four-game run, as J.P. Crawford, Julio Rodriguez, Randy Arozarena, Rowdy Tellez (2) and Cal Raleigh (2), have each hit homers, but the pitching staff has been excellent as well.

5/17/25 Seattle Mariners Shortstop J.P. Crawford Makes Franchise History After Latest Game. The Seattle Mariners have defied expectations many fans and media on the outside had for them this season. Crawford has scored 19 runs this season and has hit four doubles, four home runs and 19 RBIs in 41 games. Crawford's fourth home run came in Seattle's 5-1 win against the San Diego Padres on Friday. Crawford's home run gave the Mariners valuable early momentum in the first of a daunting 10-game road trip.

5/16/25 Seattle Mariners Get Good Injury Update in Game 1 Lineup vs. San Diego Padres. J.P. Crawford, who sat out Wednesday's series finale against the New York Yankees, is back in the lineup for the Seattle Mariners on Monday as they take on the San Diego Padres in Game 1 of a three-game series at Petco Park. Crawford was dealing with a sore shoulder, so his presence at the top of the lineup will be big for an M's team that has lost five of its last six. The Mariners enter play on Friday at 23-19 and in first place in the American League West, though their grasp on that position is tedious given the massive roster attrition early in the season. Seattle is currently without George Kirby, Logan Gilbert, Bryce Miller, Gregory Santos, Luke Raley, Victor Robles and Ryan Bliss, all of whom are on the injured list.

5/14/25 Seattle Mariners' Andres Munoz Still Has a 0.00 ERA For the Season After Scoring Change. The Seattle Mariners beat the New York Yankees 2-1 on Tuesday night, winning in 11 innings on a walk-off single from J.P. Crawford. Seattle had a 1-0 lead on the heels of a dominant start by Bryan Woo, but the game was sent to extras after the Yankees scored a run in the top of the ninth inning off M's All-Star closer Andres Munoz. Munoz hit leadoff hitter Paul Goldschmidt, who then stole second. Munoz then appeared to strike out Austin Wells, but his 0-2 pitch was called a ball.

5/14/25 J.P. Crawford's single in the 11th gives Mariners 2-1 win over Yankees to end 4-game skid. J.P. Crawford hit an RBI single down the left-field line in the 11th inning as the Seattle Mariners ended their four-game losing streak by beating the New York Yankees 2-1 on Tuesday night. With runners at the corners and nobody out, Crawford poked a single off Tim Hill (3-1) that just barely stayed fair to plate Leody Taveras and end a game in which both starting pitchers were brilliant.

5/14/25 Mariners will look to show patience once again vs. Yankees. Last season, the Seattle Mariners struck out a major league-worst 1,625 times, an average of 10 per game. Entering Wednesday afternoon's home game against the New York Yankees, the Mariners have modest gains in that department, down to 8.7 strikeouts per game to rank 10th in the majors. One of their biggest disciples has been shortstop J.P. Crawford, who batted a career-low .202 last season. Through a quarter of the 2025 campaign, Crawford is hitting .271 -- just below his career high of .273 set in 2021.

5/03/25 Seattle Mariners' J.P. Crawford homers on game's first pitch. The Seattle Mariners' red-hot lineup picked up right where it left off. All it took was one pitch. Why 2 MLB insiders are bullish on Mariners' October hopes After his team's 13-run outburst the previous night, Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford opened Saturday's game by pulling a first-pitch sinker from Texas Rangers left-hander Patrick Corbin into the right-field seats at Globe Life Field for a leadoff home run . It was the 13th leadoff homer of Crawford's career. After the solo blast, the veteran shortstop was batting .299 with three homers, three doubles and an .847 OPS this season. 4/23/25 Seattle Mariners Shortstop J.P. Crawford Having Amazing Road Tri. Through 23 games in 2025, the Seattle Mariners offense has been significantly better compared to last season. The Mariners are fourth in the league in wRC+ (weighted runs created-plus) at 116 entering Wednesday. The three teams ahead of them are respective American League and National League contenders the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs and Seattle's American League West rivals, the Athletics. Several Mariners who had down or injured seasons in 2024 have had solid starts or stretches that have helped bolster the offense.

4/08/25 Seattle Mariners SS J.P. Crawford delivers another web gem. J.P. Crawford did it again. For the second time in as many nights, the Seattle Mariners shortstop delivered a spectacular web gem. In the top of the second inning of Tuesday evening's game, Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña hit a hard grounder to Crawford's right. Crawford backhanded the ball and made an off-balanced throw off one foot to first baseman Donovan Solano, who stretched and picked it off one hop to get the out.

3/19/25 Seattle Mariners Shortstop J.P. Crawford Compliments Pair of Prospects. The Seattle Mariners have slightly more than a week until the first game of the regular season against the Athletics on March 27 at T-Mobile Park. The same time the major leaguers make their way to back to Seattle, the team's minor league players also at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Ariz., will learn their spots in the organization's farm system.

3/11/25 Mariners' J.P. Crawford swinging free, feeling fine after epiphany. The swing, which starts with the legs, was in sync and easy. It all seemed so new, yet so familiar for J.P. Crawford. No, this wasn't the swing that smashed a solo homer — a line drive that had 108 mph exit velocity and traveled 401 feet for his first long ball of the spring — in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Rockies. While Crawford was going through his normal daily hitting progression, he was taking “flips” where a hitting coach underhand tosses pitches from behind a screen about 10 feet away.

3/07/25 As Black MLB players dwindle, Mariners infield combo sticking together. A couple days before the start of spring training last month, Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford and his wife, Kathleen, sat down for a nice meal with rookie second baseman Ryan Bliss and his fiancée, Katelynn. Crawford was pleasantly surprised when Bliss presented him with a fancy bottle of Don Julio tequila. “Oh,” Crawford remembered thinking, “this is going to be a fun day.” Of course, Crawford quickly accepted the invitation to perform the wedding ceremony for Ryan and Katelynn, to be held next January in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

12/30/24 Seattle Mariners' J.P. Crawford Putting in Offseason Work at Driveline Baseball. With the offseason more than half over, the Seattle Mariners have yet to make one major league move. The offseason has been extremely frustrating for Seattle, who has real needs at first base, second base and third base, none of which have been addressed. For better or worse, it appears that any real improvements the Mariners make in 2025 will come from those already on the roster. Video was posted this weekend of Crawford working out at Driveline Baseball, which has become a hot spot for players to train in the offseason.

9/05/24 J.P. Crawford frustrated with performance this season for Mariners. J.P. Crawford kept his eyes fixed on the floor as he talked. The frustration of another hitless performance was magnified by the Mariners' third loss in four games to start this road trip. Since returning from the injured list on August 28, Crawford had played in six of the Mariners' last seven games, starting five of them. In his first 21 plate appearances, he had failed to get a hit, striking out four times.
