7/14/25 | Ex-Saints QB Derek Carr Opened Up About New Orleans. Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr hung up his cleats and announced his retirement this offseason after plenty of speculation and rumors about his future in town. A shoulder injury is seemingly what ended his career. "Number five the Superdome," Carr said. New Orleans is a tough place to play and Carr seemingly felt that before joining the franchise. 7/13/25 | Former Raider Derek Carr Reveals Challenge of Seahawks. One place that the Raiders always have a tough time playing at is Lumen Field in Seattle. One player that played a lot there during his NFL career was former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. Carr recently named Lumen Field one of the loudest stadiums in all of the National Football League. "At number three, I played here a lot of times in the regular season and the preseason, is Seattle," said Carr on the Home Grown Network. 7/10/25 | Why ESPN gave Saints their worst 2025 offseason grade. ESPN didn't pull any punches when it handed the New Orleans Saints the worst offseason grade in the NFL, giving the Saints a hard āDā that reflects more than just a few questionable decisions. While the Saints may have stumbled into some positive outcomes, the process behind their offseason strategy, or lack thereof, shows a franchise lost in the fog of mediocrity. The most glaring issue was the team's initial commitment to quarterback Derek Carr. Despite being a cap-strapped team in dire need of a rebuild, New Orleans was prepared to pay Carr a guaranteed $30 million salary for 2025, a move that made little long-term sense. 7/09/25 | The Saints' slick new helmets will (temporarily) distract from their upcoming dreadful season. Even after Derek Carr's retirement earlier this offseason, the New Orleans Saints are caught between a rock and a hard place. Their starting quarterback this year will either be a 25-year-old rookie (Tyler Shough) or a former fifth-round draft pick (Spencer Rattler) who is probably too small (and too erratic) to ever be a consistently viable passer. They have no truly difference-making pass-rushers with a lot of gas in the tank (sorry, Cameron Jordan), which may, admittedly, hang a promising secondary on paper out to dry. Even in a haphazard NFC South that seems up for grabs, it's pretty clear that first-year head coach Kellen Moore has his work cut out for him . This probably isn't a rebuild Source: https://ftw.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2025/07/... |
