7/26/25 Rockies ride momentum into rematch vs. Orioles. The Colorado Rockies and host Baltimore Orioles are dealing with extremes heading into the second game of their three-game series on Saturday. For a change, the Rockies are on the positive side when it comes to the emotional component. The Rockies won their third straight on Friday with a 6-5 comeback victory in the series opener. "It's just a sign of a team that's growing," Colorado interim manager Warren Schaeffer said.

7/20/25 Ryan McMahon aims to propel Rockies to sweep of Twins. The Colorado Rockies will look to turn their first home series win of 2025 into a three-game series sweep on Sunday when they host the Minnesota Twins in Denver. The Rockies recorded a 6-4 win over the Twins on Friday and a 10-6 victory on Saturday. "That's definitely a nice building block," Colorado interim manager Warren Schaeffer said. Colorado's last home series sweep was against the Texas Rangers on May 10-12, 2024.

7/11/25 Could More Changes Be on the Horizon for Rockies' Front Office?. While there is not much time left to make any monumental changes ahead of the 2025 MLB draft, the Colorado Rockies might still shake up their front office. The Rockies have already replaced manager Bud Black with Warren Schaeffer and elevated Walker Monfort to executive vice president. As they enter play on July 11 with a 21-72 record, they're pacing towards the worst record in modern baseball history.

7/09/25 Rockies humbled, 10-2, as red-hot Red Sox finish three-game sweep. The red-hot Sox hit four home runs Wednesday night and outscored the Rockies 29-7 over the series. “They have a lot of good players over there, and they are hot right now,” Colorado manager Warren Schaeffer told reporters in Boston. Boston blanked the Rockies for eight innings until Kyle Farmer hit a two-run homer over the Green Monster in left field off Isaiah Campbell. Farmer drove in rookie right fielder Yanquiel Fernandez, who reached on a one-out single.

7/08/25 Rockies' Warren Schaeffer gives Chase Dollander reality check after Triple-A move. The Colorado Rockies have been bad this season, to nobody's surprise. Colorado sent him to the minor leagues in exchange for Brady Blalock. At 23 years old, Dollander was by far the youngest starter in Schaeffer's rotation.

6/29/25 Rockies interim manager Warren Schaeffer goes ballistic after first career ejection. NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! For the first time as interim manager of the Colorado Rockies, Warren Schaeffer was ejected, and he made the most out of that career moment. Home plate umpire Ramon De Jesus called strike three on Rockies outfielder Tyler Freeman, and he immediately got ejected after arguing the call. Schaeffer spiked his gum and hat into the dirt after getting in between De Jesus and Freeman, which led to the umpire tossing the interim manager from the game.

6/25/25 Rockies Show Signs of Life Winning 11 of Their Last 18 After Replacing GM. The Colorado Rockies started their season historically poorly with a 7-33 record and on May 11 they deemed it was time for a big change. Following a 9-3 win over the San Diego Padres Colorado let go of their manager, Bud Black, replacing him with Warren Schaeffer. Since that point the Rockies have won 11 games, nine of which have come during the month of June.

6/23/25 Rockies Considering Hiring Exiled Manager Back in New Role. It's possible that Colorado Rockies fans have not seen the last of former manager Bud Black. 6/16/25 Rockies offense sets NL record with 35 strikeouts in two games, but romps Braves for biggest win of season. For one inning, the Rockies looked unstoppable. A six-run seventh inning propelled Colorado to a 10-1 victory on Sunday to avoid a sweep at Truist Park in Atlanta. The largest margin of victory this season improved Colorado to 14-57 — still on pace to be the worst team in the modern era — and made another dubious distinction for the Rockies offense a moot point. “You're talking about all these records, but we won 10-1, that's all I'm worried about,” interim manager Warren Schaeffer told reporters.

6/11/25 Rockies' Kris Bryant doing light work but 'is not close to returning'. “It's doing OK, but the running still gives me trouble because of the compression … puts me in some pain,” the 33-year-old Bryant said. Interim manager Warren Schaeffer said there is no timetable for Bryant's return. “He's just doing exercises, with (physical therapy) and trying to get his body feeling right,” Schaeffer said. In April, Bryant talked at length about his chronic back condition and the physical and emotional effects it's had on him.

6/06/25 Rockies dealt brutal injury update before Mets clash. The Colorado Rockies have been at the bottom of Major League Baseball since the season began. If Warren Schaeffer's team continues at their current pace, the Rockies could break the Chicago White Sox's record for most losses in a season. Colorado completed their first season sweep of the season, but will be far from full strength against the New York Mets this season. Ezequiel Tovar is back on the injured list again, leaving a hole at shortstop, according to MLB.com reporter Thomas Harding.

5/28/25 Rockies swept by Cubs, drop to 9-47 as historically bad start continues. The Rockies' last postseason win, a dramatic 2-1 triumph in 13 innings on October 2, 2018, at Wrigley Field, seems like an eon ago. The loss dropped the Rockies to 9-47 on the season, and 3-25 on the road, amid their ninth straight defeat at Wrigley Field in their ninth sweep of a dismal 2025. The Rockies lost the three games in the series by a total of four runs. “This was a competitive series,” interim manager Warren Schaeffer told reporters.

5/24/25 Rockies Journal: Warren Schaeffer makes solid first impression, record be damned. Interim manager Warren Schaeffer had some interesting things to say over the past week as he tried to steer his team away from the worst 50-game start in baseball history. “I think that's something we needed around here,” one longtime baseball operations employee told me.

5/24/25 Ryan McMahon, Rockies end slide with comeback win against Yankees at sold-out Coors Field. Sure, many of them were here to root for the visitors, but the Colorado Rockies found a way to defeat the New York Yankees, 3-2, in front of an electric crowd of 47,211 at Coors Field. “It was beautiful to see a complete game out there,” Rockies interim manager Warren Schaeffer said. Tanner Gordon was an unexpected hero, and earned his first career win. Then Ryan McMahon delivered the huge hit that has evaded this Rockies club so often in what has already felt like a lost season.

5/18/25 Rockies meet Diamondbacks, aim for first series victory of season. Colorado interim manager Warren Schaeffer had a game -- and a celebration -- that he will never forget Saturday. After the Rockies overcame a five-run deficit for a 14-12 victory over Arizona in Phoenix, Schaeffer was packed into an equipment cart and rolled into the shower room. "Age-old baseball tradition," said Schaeffer, who got his first victory in his fifth game since being promoted to replace manager Bud Black last Sunday. 'Chivi' (Angel Chivilli) had Listerine he was dumping on me.

5/14/25 Rockies looking past futility mark toward day off and upcoming series against Diamondbacks. The Colorado Rockies left Texas as the first team in baseball’s modern era to lose 36 of their first 43 games and hoping an off day in Arizona can help them reset. “That’s the plan,” interim manager Warren Schaeffer said Wednesday night following an 8-3 loss to the Texas Rangers that was Colorado's 11th in the last 12 games. At 7-36, the Rockies have lost all 14 series this season.

5/13/25 Chase Dollander carries no-hitter into sixth inning, but Rockies falter in Warren Schaeffer's managerial debut. In the first game of the Warren Schaeffer era, Chase Dollander dazzled like the ace he's proclaimed to be. With the offense mostly a no-show, the Rockies lost 2-1 to Texas to drop to 7-34 and continue their pace to becoming the worst MLB team ever. Dollander held the Rangers hitless through 5 2/3 innings at Globe Life Field to start the Rockies' six-game road trip. The one hit Dollander surrendered was a two-run homer to Wyatt Langford, but then he eventually struck out Adolis García to end the frame.
