But they did make a splash in the second round with Ole Miss' Tre Harris—which has left the door wide, wide open for history to repeat itself. The Los Angeles Chargers wound up rebuking trade offers that even head coach Jim Harbaugh called reasonable to draft Omarion Hampton in the first round. Harris, a 6-foot-2 205 lbs outside wide receiver, was on an absolute tear before suffering an injury in 2024. Last year, they drafted Ladd McConkey in the second round, who exceeded expectations in his first year with the Bolts. McConkey had 1,149 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 regular season games, then followed that up with a 197-yard, one-touchdown performance in their Wild Card loss. Outside of McConkey, the Chargers failed to find anyone to step up to be the second option on offense. The Los Angeles Chargers' needs are pretty clear heading into the NFL draft, with wide receiver standing out as one of the more pressing concerns. An argument could be made that tight end should be considered ahead of wideout, but either way, the Chargers need to add more pass-catchers to their offense. Los Angeles needs to add someone who can complement Ladd McConkey, and these three prospects could fit the bill. Luther Burden III will be an option for the Chargers, as long as they're comfortable bringing in another wide receiver who excels in the slot. After hitting big on second round pick Ladd McConkey last year, the Chargers know they have a legit No.1 option for Justin Herbert and the offense. The problem that arose last season was that outside of McConkey, there was not much more offensive production.
