7/29/25 Embattled Patriots WR Logs TD In Training Camp Practice Return. Ja'Lynn Polk is under more pressure this summer than perhaps anyone on the New England Patriots roster. Polk, terrible as a rookie after being drafted as a second-round pick, missed the first three practices of camp due to a reported soft-tissue injury. It was bad news for a player who underwent shoulder surgery during the offseason and entered camp on the Patriots' roster bubble. “The Patriots did have a nifty play-action touchdown from (Drake) Maye to Ja'Lynn Polk,” Boston Sports Journal's Greg Bedard wrote in the “top play” section of his practice breakdown.

7/24/25 Patriots Insider Reveals Reason for Receiver's Absence. As the New England Patriots took the field on Wednesday for their first training camp practice of 2025, one player conspicuous by his absence from the action was second-year receiver Ja'Lynn Polk. With Polk absent from team drills for second straight day, more than a few eyebrows within Patriots Nation were raised regarding the 23-year-old's status. Fortunately, a Patriots insider was able to add some context for Polk's brief hiatus from team drills. “I'm told [Ja'Lynn] Polk passed his initial physical, then later had what is considered minor muscle tightness, so playing it cautious early,” per ESPN's Mike Reiss.

7/23/25 Patriots Camp Begins Without Key Wide Receiver On The Field. Ja'Lynn Polk was the only unexpected absence Wednesday as the New England Patriots opened training camp. Brian Hines of Pats Pulpit reported the absence on social media. The team has yet to provide a reason why the second-year wideout did not take the field. While Polk is not listed on the physically unable to perform or non-football injury lists, his offseason shoulder procedure may offer some context.

7/19/25 Forgotten Patriots wide receiver issues strong statement to doubters. New England Patriots second-year wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk refuses to let a disappointing rookie season ruin his expectations for the future. The deck is stacked against him with Mike Vrabel taking over as the new head coach and de facto decision-maker for the Patriots. There are no ties to the 2024 second-round draft pick for Vrabel, like there would have been for former Patriots coach Jerod Mayo. Polk has been recovering from shoulder surgery, which limited his availability in the spring practices.

7/12/25 Patriots Embattled WR Fires Off Pointed Message. The New England Patriots' receiving corps is going to look a heck of a lot different heading into 2025, which could spell bad news for some of the team's holdovers. Take second-year wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk, for example. The Patriots selected Polk in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and were expecting him to be a big part of the offense during his rookie campaign, but he managed just 12 catches for 87 yards and a couple of touchdowns. As a result, the University of Washington product could be on the chopping block going into the new season, and a strong training camp performance is probably needed from him in order for him to carve out a role on New England's 53-man roster.

7/11/25 Training Camp Preview: Wide Receivers. Next, the Patriots selected two wide receivers in the first 110 draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft whose rookie seasons didn't go as planned: Ja'Lynn Polk (second round) and Javon Baker (fourth round). First, Polk had some early flashes in his rookie campaign but managed only 12 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns.

7/04/25 Patriots WR in Trouble Before Training Camp. The New England Patriots have certainly revamped their receiving corps this offseason, bringing in a bunch of new faces to hopefully give life to a unit that was the NFL's worst in 2024. Of course, the Patriots' new additions definitely mean trouble for some of New England's holdovers, and perhaps no Pats receiver is in more trouble than Ja'Lynn Polk. The Patriots selected Polk in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and were hoping that the University of Washington product would play a significant role in their offense during his rookie campaign. Polk logged just 12 catches for 87 yards and a couple of touchdowns in his debut season, putting his future with New England in doubt.

6/24/25 Patriots WRs Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker at Risk of Being Cut. Two New England Patriots wide receivers from the 2024 NFL Draft, second-round pick Ja'Lynn Polk and fourth-round pick Javon Baker, could be cut this offseason.

6/11/25 Patriots WR Pair Projected to Meet Brutal Fate. Last year, the New England Patriots selected a pair of wide receivers in the NFL Draft, snagging Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker in the second and fourth rounds, respectively. Both wide outs were expected to play significant roles in the Patriots' offense last season, but instead, they combined to tally just 13 catches, with Polk being responsible for 12 of them. In the meantime, New England had the worst receiving corps in the league during the 2024 campaign (and that's objectively speaking), which resulted in the Pats overhauling their wide receiver room over the past several months. The Patriots signed Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins in free agency, nabbed Kyle Williams in the draft and also picked up undrafted free agent Efton Chism III, who is making a phenomenal impression throughout New England's offseason workouts.

6/04/25 1 New England Patriots player with most to prove at OTAs. Seasons aren't determined during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp, but roster spots might be. Following the New England Patriots' busy offseason, they have 12 wide receivers likely competing for no more than six roster spots, making it imperative for Ja'Lynn Polk to play well during the offseason program. Polk notably struggled as a rookie last season. Polk seemed to make a handful of drops in pivotal moments during the early half of the 2024 season, while a potential game-winning touchdown against the Miami Dolphins in Week 5 was negated when his feet failed to land inbounds.

6/03/25 2nd rounders in 2nd year: 2025 outlook for Patriots WR Ja'Lynn Polk. Ja'Lynn Polk struggled as a rookie wideout in New England, and he's facing much-improved Patriots competition for reps in 2025

5/23/25 Patriots' Embattled WR Has 'Immense' Potential. Last year, the New England Patriots selected a pair of wide receivers in the NFL Draft, nabbing Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker in the second and fourth rounds, respectively. Both were expected to play significant roles for the Patriots right off the bat, but that did not happen. Instead, Polk and Baker combined for 13 catches, with the former accounting for 12 of them. Baker was targeted just four times, and even his attempted efforts on special teams went to waste.
