8/23/25 Seahawks stud Jaxon Smith-Njigba does not belong on list of NFL WRs to avoid. Jaxon Smith-Njigba became the first wide receiver off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft, going No. 20 overall to the Seattle Seahawks. Naturally, that status came with some high expectations, and it took him a bit to meet them. Smith-Njigba had a solid rookie season with 63 receptions for 628 yards and four touchdowns, but it wasn't a great one. Some of that may have to do with him sharing the field with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, and the fact that he hardly played at Ohio State in 2022. Still, it was a bit disappointing when two receivers picked just after him - Zay Flowers of the Baltimore Ravens at No. 22 and Jordan Addison of the Minnesota Vikings at No. 23 - had stronger debuts. 7/29/25 Analyst says Seattle Seahawks' offensive line key to making postseason. Despite winning 10 games and narrowly missing the postseason in 2024, the Seattle Seahawks are in the midst of some big changes this offseason. Seattle saw massive improvements on defense in 2024, which was their first season under head coach Mike Macdonald. Darnold proved he can get the job done in Minnesota last year, and he has help with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Elijah Arroyo.

6/20/25 Analyst picks Seahawks rising star as Offensive Player of the Year candidate. There may not have been a generational wide receiver in the 2023 NFL Draft, but there was a good deal of talent at the position. Ohio State's Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the first receiver off the board at No. 20 overall to the Seattle Seahawks, and he showed exactly why in his second season. Smith-Njigba, 23, had an outstanding breakout season in 2024, hauling in 100 receptions (tying the single-season franchise record) for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns. According to Jacob Infante of Pro Football & Sports Network, Smith-Njigba is the Seahawks' leading candidate to win Offensive Player of the Year after his breakout performance.

6/06/25 Why new Seattle Seahawks WR stood out to Bump at OTAs. With Jaxon Smith-Njigba coming off a breakout 1,100-yard season and former All-Pro Cooper Kupp now in the fold, free-agent addition Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been a bit of an afterthought in the Seattle Seahawks' new-look wide receiver room. On Monday, Valdes-Scantling made a nice leaping touchdown catch over a defender in the corner of the end zone. Matched up against starting cornerback Riq Woolen in an 11-on-11 red-zone period, Valdes-Scantling faked a slant route and then broke hard back to his left, which enabled him to gain separation and haul in a short TD pass from Sam Darnold.

4/16/25 2025 NFL draft: Seahawks met with Oregon playmaker Traeshon Holden. In 2024, Jaxon Smith-Njigba led the Seattle Seahawks in catches (100), receiving yards (1,130) and touchdown grabs (6). Veteran Tyler Lockett totaled 49 grabs for 600 yards and two TDs. Of course, Metcalf is now a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Lockett remains on the open market after being released. General manager John Schneider signed Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, as well as River Cracraft and Steven Sims Jr. The latter figures to be more of a factor on special teams.
