Luckily, the Colts foresaw the situation last year and were prepared. Last April in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Colts traded up to draft Matt Goncalves in the third round and then took Tanor Bortolini in the fourth.

5/20/25 Colts Star Being 'Written Off'. The Indianapolis Colts possess a talented pass-catching corps, which was amplified after they selected rookie tight end Tyler Warren with the 14th overall pick of the NFL draft this year. While names like Josh Downs and Alec Pierce are fantastic talents, as well as the question mark that is Adonai Mitchell, it's still Michael Pittman Jr. who slots in as the WR1. The Colts' wide receivers suffered in fantasy football last year through 11 games due to the wild inaccuracy of Anthony Richardson, especially Pittman, who played through a fractured back and had the lowest numbers of his career since his debut season in 2020.

5/19/25 Numbers Rank Colts' Richardson Toward Top of League. The Indianapolis Colts took a massive risk on project quarterback Anthony Richardson with the fourth overall pick in 2023, and the results haven't panned out accordingly since then. Richardson has struggled with injury, accuracy, and turnover issues through 15 starts at the professional level. Unfortunately, he's also missed loads of throws that every quarterback in the league should make. If you focus on the good, Richardson looks the part.

5/19/25 Colts $24 million sack artist in danger of being cut. The Indianapolis Colts defense may look very different than previous seasons. After parting ways with former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, the Colts brought in Lou Anarumo to run that side of the ball under head coach Shane Steichen. Anarumo's defensive philosophy differs greatly from that of Bradley's, which means some personnel may find it difficult to see the same role they previously held. One of those players is edge rusher Samson Ebukam, who is coming off a torn Achilles he suffered during training camp last preseason.

5/17/25 Colts Rookie Runner Stat Predictions Revealed. When the Indianapolis Colts drafted Kansas State running back DJ Giddens in the fifth round of the recent NFL Draft, they were floored that a player they thought so highly of was still available. As a result, the Colts stopped Giddens' slide, making him the 151st pick. While Giddens didn't fill an immediate glaring need, as the Colts already have a Pro Bowl running back in Jonathan Taylor, the Colts see a player who can be effective, whether as a role player or, eventually, a starter. Recently, ESPN senior NFL fantasy football writer Mike Clay released his stat projections for the 2025 rookie class, including a modest output for Giddens.
