There was some familiarity in the New Orleans Saints' latest transaction after the team signed undrafted free agent Lorenzo Neal Jr. on Sunday. The defensive tackle out of Purdue is the son of former All-Pro fullback Lorenzo Neal, who began his 16-year NFL career with the Saints. The Associated Press The New Orleans Saints have agreed to contract terms with offensive lineman Kyle Murphy, rookie defensive lineman Lorenzo Neal and linebacker Quentin Poling, general manager Mickey Loomis announced Sunday. The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Murphy is a three-year NFL veteran out of Stanford who was a 2016 sixth-round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers. 5/14/21 | Lorenzo Neal Jr. Signs with New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately he didn’t show as much as NFL scouts had hoped and he wound up undrafted. Neal is a big man at 6’3 and 325 (according to ESPN) and can really eat up some space on a defensive line. There are questions about his weight and what type of shape he’s in but the hope is that by being in a professional environment in the NFL Neal will be able to control these things and get into the best shape of his life.
