4/03/10Carroll will be carried as a backup infielder.
12/19/09Carroll and Blake DeWitt "will share second base," Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said Friday. "Jamey can also play shortstop, third base, the outfield," said Colletti. "If DeWitt gets hot, Carroll's got versatility. He could spell Casey Blake at third, he could spell Raffy [Rafael Furcal]. We've seen him in the outfield in season and we'll see him in Spring Training. He can come off the bench. There's a lot of different things he brings."
12/16/09Pending a physical, Carroll has signed a two-year deal with the Dodgers worth $4 million.
11/06/09Carroll filed for free agency Thursday, though the Indians might try to re-sign him. He missed the first five weeks of 2009 because of a broken bone in his left hand. He returned to play in 93 games and batted .276 with a .695 OPS. He made $2.5 million.
8/10/09Carroll went 2-for-5 with a RBI-double and a solo home run (2), to lead the Indians to an 8-4 victory over the White Sox yesterday. He is batting .295.
7/25/09Carroll went 1-for-3 with his first home run, and second in 150 games since Cleveland acquired him from the Rockies following the 2007 season.
6/10/09Carroll went 1-for-3 last night. He has hit in eight straight games and is batting .400 (12-for-30) over that stretch.
5/12/09The Cleveland Indians activated 2B Jamey Carroll from the 15-Day disabled list.
4/09/09Carroll does not need surgery on his hand, but he will miss the next four to six weeks of action.
4/08/09The Cleveland Indians placed Carroll on the 15-day DL (retroactive to April 5th) with a broken left hand, and purchased the contract of INF Tony Graffanino from Triple-A Columbus.
10/16/08The Indians picked up the $2.5 million option on Carroll's contract. He will get some playing time at second and third base again in 2009.
7/31/08Carroll returned in a pinch hitting appearance last night. He has been out with a mild hamstring strain since Friday. Carroll struck out in the at-bat.
7/28/08Carroll was held out of the Indians lineup for the third consecutive game tonight.
7/25/08Carroll left Friday night's game with a strained left hamstring and is listed as day to day. Keep you posted on this injury.
6/12/08Carroll went 3-for-4 yesterday to raise his average from .225 to .245 (26-for-106).
5/29/08Carroll has hit safely in six straight games. He went 2-for-3 yesterday and is batting .231.

4/18/08Carroll got the start at second base last night, went 2-for-4, and is batting .308 (4-for-13) this season.
4/08/08Carroll made his first start of the season, spelling Asdrubal Cabrera against the Angels last night. He went 1-for-3. 3/02/08Carroll and his wife Kim became the parents of twins: a girl, Mackenzie Joyce, and a boy, Cole Patrick on Wednesday night in Viera, FL. He played in yesterday's spring training game as the DH.
12/07/07The Indians are expected to announce that they acquired utility infielder Jamey Carroll from the Colorado Rockies for a player to be named later. He hit .300 in 2006 as the Rockies' primary second baseman but his average fell to .225 this year. He has a career .272 average with Montreal/Washington (2002-05) and Colorado (2006-07).

2/18/07Carroll will see time in the outfield this spring. He is being groomed to be a super sub. With his speed potential, a $1 end of draft pick is not too risky.
1/03/07The Rockies signed Carroll to a two-year extension today worth $4 million. He will likely share the second base job with Kaz Matsui and also play a utility man role.

2/12/06Rockies purchased the contract of Carroll from the Nationals. Even in Colorado, he has ZERO value.
8/18/05Carroll is probably going to continue to see increased playing time at shortstop in place of a struggling Cristian Guzman. Although Guzman's numbers are bad, Carroll's aren't much better.
6/09/05Carroll sat out last night's game with a slightly sprained left ankle. He could return today.
1/27/05Nationals agreed to terms with Carroll.
7/30/03Jamey has quietly hit .271 filling in at third with Tatis out.
