5/03/06The Sporting News is reporting today that Rincon is now "officially" returning to his role as setup man in place of Jesse Crain, and that Crain will be used in earlier innings. However, in light of Crain's terrible season so far, this "official" announcement is no surprise.

3/13/06Rincon still has not been able to pitch in a game yet this Spring. "Are we starting to worry? Yes, a little bit," Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire told MLB.com. "We are a little concerned. I'd not be telling you the truth if I didn't say that." The one thing that keeps Gardenhire from getting too concerned just yet is that Rincon usually only pitches one inning in games. The Twins don't have to worry about stretching Rincon out to a large pitch count, but they do want him to face live hitters. For Rincon to be ready to pitch at the start of the season will require a bit of time. "We need a good 10-12 days to do that," Gardenhire said of getting Rincon ready. "We need to get him in once every three or four days to throw the ball. We'd like to get him get a stint where he throws two innings in a game."
3/01/06 Rincon told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he expects to throw off a mound today for the first time this spring. Rincon is returning from elbow surgery to remove a bone spur.

6/25/05Some national fantasy web-sites have written that Rincon has been replaced by Jesse Crain as the Twins primary set-up man, and encouraged players to drop Rincon. This writer doesn't believe that is the case based on how Crain and Rincon have been used in recent games.
5/14/05Rincon will re-join the Twins active roster after serving a 10-day suspension for performing-enhancing substances.
5/02/05Rincon has tested positive for performing-enhancing substances and will be suspended for 10 days.
4/15/05Romero worked the seventh inning, Juan Rincon pitched the eighth and Joe Nathan finished for his third save. The Minnesota trio hasn't allowed an earned run in 16 1-3 innings this season.
