With six starters and five rotation spots, the Twins opted to piggyback Taj Bradley and Mick Abel, both of whom were acquired in trades at the deadline. Bradley was dominant in his five innings, giving up just one hit, touching 98.9 mph and getting 14 whiffs, including at least three on four different pitch types. The 24-year-old RHP will finally make his debut with the franchise on Sunday. After making three starts with Triple-A St. Paul, Minnesota recalled Bradley before Sunday's game against the White Sox, and designated veteran reliever Erasmo Ramirez in a subsequent move. According to Bobby Nightengal Jr. of the Minnesota Star Tribune, right-handers Taj Bradley and Mick Abel could toe the rubber at Target Field on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Abel tied a single-game record with the St. Paul Saints when he struck out 11 batters in his last start. There's no doubt Taj Bradley must have felt he had something to prove to the Tampa Bay Rays, who optioned him to the Triple-A Durham Bulls on July 24. Facing the Gwinnett Stripers (Atlanta Braves affiliate), Bradley threw seven no-hit innings in his first Triple-A appearance in the minors in 2025, He walked two batters and struck out three, tossing 89 pitches – 56 for strikes – before being lifted.
