| 8/20/25 | The tests of the stretch run begin for the Reds. A few weeks ago, Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher Luis Mey was in Triple-A. This week against the Los Angeles Angels, Mey found himself pitching in the eighth inning in consecutive close games where the Reds had the lead. Over the course of a few days, Will Benson went from being in Louisville to being up at the plate in the top of the ninth inning with the score tied. Playoff chases have a way of testing your depth in the dog days of August. The Reds' biggest obstacle during the stretch run of the season is going to be one that we don't even see yet.
